I feel bad but every year I take mr.scrooge into the city to see the tree and the windows and I make him hang lights and decorate the tree, go shopping, wrap, watch marathons of Christmas movies and i force feed him gingerbread cookies (he's not to fond of those). But I do it bc he is a bahhumbug and I'm training him to love it for the sake of our children one day.

Christmas is still kinda new to FH, since he's Muslim. This is our 5th Christmas together, so the traditions are still such a novelty to him.
One thing I make him do is drive me around Howard Beach on the weekend prior to Christmas so we can look at all of the houses that are decorated. People do such a great job over there! Then we go to this little pasta place that I love out there on Crossbay. It's a tradition that started with my parents and sister, and now that they're in FL, it's FH's responsibility to humor me with it
Also, Christmas breakfast. We go all out with a huge breakfast.
Oh, one more thing. I bake cookies for friends and family, and then pack them up in little boxes for everyone. FH drives me from house to house to drop them off!

FH and I both loooooooove xmas time!!
this past weekend, we spent 5 hours decorating his house....this weekend, its my turn!!!!!
We always go into the city (which we are doing in 2 weeks) to go ice skating at Rockafellar center and have a nice dinner......
We decorate my familys tree together and he attempts to help with wrapping....(usually winds up just writing the TO/FROM tags).....
and we always drive around Brooklyn to see all the big beautiful houses all lit up and decorated....
OHHHHHHH and he always tests/samples my xmas cookies....
this year, I think I may ask him to help me take some toys to a childrens hospital!! haven't done it for 2 years now and I have felt so guilty!!!

Actually, I am the scrooge and FH lovesss Christmas. He drags me around everywhere and whenever I am in his car he gets mad when I change the radio station off of 106.7 (24/7 Christmas music)... so annoying! Bah Humbug lol

I try to make him come to midnight mass with me and my family he always leaves at 11:30-lol, he went to catholic school his whole life he says that is enough to last him want till we have kids he will be there! I also can never get him to see any x-mas shows I bought tickets to the nutcracker a few years ago, I end up going with my sister, aunt and mom!

FH's family doesn't usually make a big deal with Christmas...and mine goes a little overboard soooooo I every year I try to push him further and further into the traditions and activities I've done all my life. This year FH will have his first Christmas with my family in NY and he has no idea what he is getting into
As far as things I make him do....he needs to decorate the outside of the house, help me put up and decorate the tree, make a gingerbread house with me (lol) and I keep the Christmas shows/movies on non-stop soooo hes bound to watch some of it with me

We spent all day Saturday decorating the tree and the inside of the house and then spent sunday putting up the lights outside. Since it is our first christmas in our house I think it was more exciting to put up out new things. I have been taking FH to see the tree and all the windows for about 8 years now and I think he likes it....but were kinda dorky and loooove christmas!!!

Try and go see the tree and walk around the city and see the windows every year. This weekend a group of couples are going to see the movie xmas Carol in 3d, go see the tree and then going for a nice dinner....I think the girls are all pushing this The weekend after is tree time!!!!! I hope at our place and then my parents, if there is time then his family's house

He helps me with the tree and decorations, and we also go to Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.
FH actually really likes Christmas and starting playing Christmas music on Thanksgiving! He had our tree up the next day while I was out doing new business stuff

Well.. it took a long 5 yrs but I finally broke Scrooge McDuck. The years and effort that I put in to 'train' FH to like Christmas have finally paid off, and it came as a total surprise to me!
Normally, I start Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. I get the music going, the tree up that weekend, all the while FH is saying it's too early, blah blah. Well, this year he is all gung ho about Christmas. We even watched Emmett Otters Jugband Christmas and Christmas Vacation the WEEKEND BEFORE Thanksgiving!! And, it was HIS IDEA!! I almost had a heart attack.
So, the house lights are up, the tree is up, the house is decorated and the Christmas music is on full blast and I didn't do it by myself this year!!

No...she'll celebrate holidays at church and we'll go to his parents for Christmas and (if we can afford it) Easter.

Totally making FH go into the city with me to see the tree and look at the windows. I love Christmastime. I make him listen to 97.5 with me anytime we're in the car so we can sing together.
