Maybe I am mistaken and there are not too many Queens/Brooklyn girls out there. I put up a vote and I only got several responses and none about if you want to go as couples or singles. Someone else put up a a message for a GTG and got 24 messages in one day!
Sorry to vent and if I am wrong and maybe there are not too many Queens brides and this would be a correct number I apologize!

I think the NYC GTG will get people who commute into the city from Long Island, as well as city people... I probably wouldn't make the trip for either Queens or the city, honestly, since I live and work in Suffolk...

Michelle, it's not you. This isn't the first time a Queens GTG has been attempted and received a lack of response. The city is just convenient for more people, because it's relatively centralized.

Awww, don't be upset! Do you work in Manhattan? I live in Queens and was going to go to one of the G2G's that fell through...It just happens. It's hard to get crowds together.

I just feel bad because I moved to Queens and I am willing to go to LI every once in a while for a GTG. I just got the impression the Queens people would rather to go Manhattan to a GTG. I may be wrong since I got 9 responses so if I am I apologize.

I work in Manhattan, so it's not like I'd be travelling to Manhattan just to attend a GTG.

I'm sorry if I upset you when i said the queens gtg could be combined with the manhattan one..I was just thinking we'd get more people together that way. Personally, I'd rather go to one in queens, since I live there, but I have no trouble travelling to the city or Nassau for a GTG. I go to whatever GTGs i'm available for. Ever since I moved to Queens from Staten Island, it has been remarkably easier for me to go to GTGs in any of these locations.
Even though we're willing to travel to LI for a GTG, it's unlikely that LI people want to travel to Queens. People tend to go to where the majority of people are, not vice versa..unfortunately for us!

this is another reason I never went to any of the gtg. If I remembe rcorrectly the one in westbury was okay not a big turnout either. As long as you go and have a good time that is all that matters.
ETA there are several girls from queens dont be fooled.

Why don't we make one big one, like Jax recommended? Would that work for everyone??

I just want to say to Michelle - please dont get upset or down about ANY of this!
overall its very hard to coordinate GTGs in general on the site. What might start out as a large group of people with interest might actually wind up being just a handful. We're all living and working in all different areas, so its always difficult to organize something that's accessible for everyone
Heck I live in the BOONIES of Westchester (LOL) and I am never able to make a GTG unless its in Manhattan, since I work there..
So PLEASE don't feel badly or that your are being slighted! You are such a sweet person and I'm sure the Queens GTG will be wonderful even if there are only a few of you..sometimes they are more fun that way b/c you really get to chat with everyone
