what i did last night (aspca related)

this happened a while ago

http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/topic.aspx?ID=42597

i couldnt find a nassau spca number so i called the suffolk one.
this cruelty was in westbury.

Well, my dad says that nothing was ever done. It did get better for a while but now theres only 1 dog alive and he was out all day with ice frozen on his face. Why my dad waited till last night to tell me is beyond me.

So last night i called the suffolk one again and they said there's nothing they can do. They didnt have the nassau phone number. I kept googling found 2 numbers but both were out of service. I called my police precinct and they seem uninterested. (not their job as they stated).

THEN I WENTO ONTO LIF AND SAW MSMBV AND FM'ED HER. Within minutes she fmed me a few numberss and 1 worked. SO SHOUTOUT TO MSMBV FOR BEING A TREMENDOUS HELP

I called the westbury spca and gave my complaint. The receptionist typed everything i said and said id get a call in the morning. well, there was no way i was able to sleep and was going to go there and give the dog a blanket.
the spca called me back within minutes and i was on the phone with them till they got to the place and they took the dog back with them

they told me they are going to try this as a criminal case and they will be calling me back again to get a more full detailed report. I told them to please tell me when the dog is adoptable so i can post it on here and if he goes to a kill shelter(which they assured me they wouldnt do), my fh's father will take him in.

so thats what i did last night between 11-1am

SO IF YOU EVER SEE ANY ANIMAL ABUSE/NEGLECT IN NASSAU COUNTY...PLEASE CONTACT THE FOLLOWING
Nassau County SPCA

Thanks for the info! I believe in 'eye for an eye' and believe this man should be left out in the snow, rain without food-until he dies. *** is the matter with people?!?!?

I am so glad you did something and saved those dogs.

Jess, you and your dad are such amazing people. That almost made me cry -- its so terrible what people do to animals.

You saved that dog!!!

Aw that is so sweet, my GF had to report her neighbor once and the neighbor let them give the dog to another friend of ours. Know you saved that poor tortured animal!!!

I don't know the details of the story bc I really can't read things like that. But I know you saved an animal and that's all that matters. I hope the guy spends a good amount of time in jail and gets butt-raped by a well hung man!

What you did is so great.....I can't stand hearing about stuff like that happening to animals. What's the matter with people?!?!?

So glad that there are people like you out there looking out for helpless animals. Thanks for the phone number, I will keep it handy.

I hope there is a special place in hell for people like this...you should be very proud of yourself for taking action!!! If more people were like you and your family maybe animals could stop suffering! I have 2 dogs...one is rescue...a sweet little baby that someone just abondoned in a building in the city...she had to fend for herself...i'd love to find her last owner and kick their butt..people can help themselves but animals rely on us!

Thank god for people like you who take notice. It sickens me that people leave pets outdoors in this kind of weather--or any weather for that matter. Whoever owned that place is clearly a heartless human being.

OH MY GOSH!

I don't understand why people get pets when they don't take care of them!

I HATE THAT!

UGH... That god! You saved that dogs life!

It is sad that only 1 dog is left but you have saved that dog. Now he will have a warm place to sleep, food in his belly adn best of all someone who loves him. You are a wonderful person for taking the time to help an animal that couldn't help itself.

Thank you for what you did.

That is so amazing....I cannot deal with animal cruelty - specifically to cats and dogs who do nothing other than love their owners. I could go on and on....but Kudos to you for being such a saint!!!

It breaks my heart to hear what people will do to poor, helpless animals. I'm so glad you stayed on top of this and didn't give up until someone responded. This is definitely a cruelty case and I wish the owner could experience half the hardship his poor dogs did.
