My fiance really doesn't like to dance unless he's pretty drunk WHICH he will not be on our big day...the slow dances I'm not worried about, but will it be bad if we don't dance at our own wedding very much???? I like to dance, but since he doesn't, I don't want to force him!!!
I am so nervous about this!!!

Re: what if fh doesn't dance???
The shoe is on the other foot, in my situation. I'll get through a slow dance, but anything more complicated- especially the salsas, bachatas and merengues his family loves, is just impossible for me. AND in my poofy gown?!?! Oh, man.
I have decided to suck it up and do the best i can, even if it means looking like an idiot.

Re: what if fh doesn't dance???
I have the same problem. My FH can barely slow dance. It's like he's at a 6th grade dance or something. I begged him to go for dance lessons but he refused. The only time I have seen him dance is when he was super-drunk at an office christmas party. AND HE WAS BREAK DANCING....BADLY...VERY BADLY...He was the talk of the office on Monday morning.
I love to dance and I always do even if he's holding up the bar somewhere. But I am afraid of the video being of me on the dance floor and him...elsewhere.
Sorry I didn't really answer your question - just wanted you to know that you're not alone!

Re: what if fh doesn't dance???
my concern...
do you think a wedding isn't as much fun if the bride/groom aren't dancing??? I mean...does that mean other people won't dance as much???? Maybe i should hire some professional dancers to pose as guests. lolol

i think it depends on the guests. ours love to dance and will boogie even if we aren't.

No, everyone who loves to dance will dance. A lot of times its majority girls dancing anyway. FH doesn't dance either, but he told me not to let it stop me from dancing because he knows I like to dance. I'm sure ur FH would feel the same way.

DH isn't much of a dancer either. I didn't let it stop me - I danced all night with my friends and BMs and had a fabulous time!

Re: what if fh doesn't dance???
My fiance and I have gone to two weddings together, and he has refused to even slow dance with me at both! He knows he has to dance with me for a few slow dances at our wedding or I'll kill him! I told him to just stand in place, bend his knees and 'raise the roof' but he won't do that either!
He loves to watch me dance though, so he'll have a good time just doing that. I want to spend every minute of our wedding day at his side, so I don't want to be on the dancefloor while he's on the sidelines. I guess I'll just see how I feel that day...
My brother did not dance at all at his wedding other than the first dance. My fiance's brother did exactly the same. The wedding video and the photos during the reception only have the bride dancing and it's a shame because the grooms were hardly on the tape.

Don't worry about it. We hardly had time to dance at our wedding. We still had lots of people on the dance floor. I really think it depends on who your guests are as well. All yuo need is a few people to get it started and people will follow. Have your BM's be in charge of that. I did and it worked! They started the party at our wedding.

FH doesn't dance either. He might dance a few songs if I make him, but my Junior BM will be my partner!

HUGE concern for me too! FH has promised me though...it's the ONLY TIME he'll get out and dance...at our wedding.
He's so silly though...he really really really cracks me up! He has absolutely no rhythm! He does this like squat, stick your butt out, chugga chugga choo choo arm thing.... Ahhhhh...I LOVE HIM!

Don't worry. I've been to weddings where the bride was on the dance floor the whole night, and the groom danced only the slow songs, and everyone had a great time. He'll be walking around and talking to his friends.
