What is a blusher?

The veil thread further down reminded me of a question we had.
Is the blusher always attached to the other veils? My daughter wants a high hair-do with the cathedral and fingertip veils attached below the 'bun', and the tiara in front of it. If the blusher is attached to those two veils, it will look funny flipped over to cover her hair and face.
Has anyone ever seen a blusher that is cut in a circle but not attached to anything? We would place it over her head and then have her father totally remove it. Is this too far-fetched? Has anyone heard of this before?

I have not heard of that, however I think it's totally 'do-able'. I am having the same sort of thing with the veil behind the bun, so I would have had the same problem but I think the blusher isn't for me (34 yrs old living with fiance...I'm no blushing bride!)

But I think your idea is fine...I'm sure someone will make one for you. I went to the bridal veil shop in Tri-County (the store that is closest to the front of the place) and she custom makes veils for brides. She might be able to accomodate you.

Cute. Blushing bride!! - no, that's not my daughter either, and she's 29! She just like the 'mystery' associated with having her Dad reveal her to the groom.

In the past blushers were just little veils that were placed over the face and attached to a hat with a hat pin or a basting stitch.

Nowadays it is usually refered to a layer of a veil that is pulled over the face. You can pull the veil over the head even if you wear it underneath a bun instead of on top of the head. You just have to get a veil with a long enough layer to do it.
