what is a groom's cake

I'm doing a grom's cake at my wedding. I chose to replicate my FH's race car. I think it's asweet way to honor him, since so much is centered around the bride.

You can also have a grooms cake at the RD which is what I chose to do...Here is what my DH's groom's cake looked like:

BTW...His nickname is 'Spits' and his favorite number is '21'

ETA: His favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys so I had the teams jersey made out of a cake and it was yummy!
