What is a reasonable cost for a bach party?

What is a reasonable cost for a bach party?

my sis is looking into options for my bach party and asked me what is a reasonable cost range so she has a frame of reference. neither of us have ever been to a bach party before so i really dont know.

we are thinking about going to AC on a Sat morning, staying Sat night, and coming back Sun night.

There are a lot of cost variables...

transportation:
- take the bus
- take a limo one way or both ways
- carpool (not really an option)

hotel
- cheapest possible?
- how many can we squeeze in a room?

entertainment
- what we do sat night?

i dont know if AC is just too expensive altogether or what... the tentative backup plan was a night out in the city w/ a limo, dinner, and a bar/club but that sounds like it would be just as expensive?

what do you consider reasonable for someone's bach party? any thoughts here are welcome

Why oh why do we have to be reasonable though?

I made this post before. I think even a night in the city is expensive. My girls with a limo in the city paid $300 including paying for me for night. We had dinner at a nice restaurant with drinks, open bar at a bar and 3 bottles at a club. The limo was expensive...but for just the going out part it was $200.....do what you want.

I think its fair to ask people not to spend more than like $125-$150.

I agree. I think a lot of bach parties are expensive, especially when you consider most of the girls going are very close to you and/or are in your BP. I declined most of the ones I was invited to for this reason - couldn't afford it on top of the gift, dress, hair, shoes, makeup, etc. I think $150 - 200 is the most I would like my girls to spend. I don't have a BP, just a MOH, so hopefully, those girls whose parties I couldn't go to still come to mine!!!

ETA: I don't think you need to spend a ton of money to have a terrific time. A nice dinner is great, but you can have just as much fun eating pizza in your hotel room. I would suggest taking a car or 2 to AC if you can, and spend your money on the hotel room (you can get cheaper ones a little further away from the boardwalk, not cheesy either) and having fun. My mother always said, why spend your money on food when you can spend a lot less at home and still have a great meal.

we're doing my friends at the borgata - if we squeeze 4 in a room its $131pp for a saturday night (all in)

Dinner will prob cost us around $75 each and we will each prob spend $125 or so out that night.

AC can get a little pricey depending on how you do it.

If you're concerned about $$, I would ditch the limo idea and just take the bus.

i'd rather keep the limo or just do limo going down and pregame in the hotel room to keep costs down but i have no idea what a limo would cost us so that will be a big factor

Honestly, I think it would add a lot to the cost. Call a few people and check it out though.

I agree - I think some of the girls looked into it and it wasn't worth it for us, but thats JMO.

most rooms 4 fit in a room. Some rooms can be about 300-400 a night so it would be about $100 each or less for the room. If you guys can take your own cars that would help with the cost

at night go to the borgata, you have 2 good clubs to go to. Mur Mur and in the mixx are good.

fh and his friends did this for his friends bachelor party it was over 2k. You are better off not getting a limo and focusing less on drinks bc that will cost less. Infact at a casino if you are playing slots or anything, you could play $1 if you want and you get free drinks so thats not a big problem. Or like you said you can just bring bottles with you.

also you can go to carmines for dinner, its family size and that will keep costs down at dinner and the food is so good. If i remember correctly mur mur was $20 to get in, drinks were about average not too crazy

If you do go to AC, go a few times to one casino before and have everyone you go with play slots on one players card. That way you get points towards free rooms and will start to get offers in the mail.

Re: What is a reasonable cost for a bach party?

On average for a night in the city for BPs, my friends usually got a limo, did an activity (like pole dancing), and then we went to a bar, and that cost about $130 or so per person, which I thought was good. We pre-gamed at someone's house, brought drinks and food in the limo, this way we could get wasted without spending all our money, haha.

I would say $150 is the most I'd be willing to pay for a BP. In one year, 6 of my friends got married (2 of which I was in the wedding party), so that meant 6 showers and 6 BPs!!! The costs do add up after awhile, and there were even BPs I just said I couldn't go to, in order to save money.

I say think about how much you'd be willing to spend on someone else's BP and try to apply it that way for your BP. So if you make your friends pay $150 to go out for your BP, be prepared to spend that much for theirs.
