Do you give $$ lilke weddings and bar mitzvahs? Or do you give gifts?
DH's niece had a baby boy and the bris is Thursday. It's my first one and I am clueless!

Either one really. It's totally a preference thing. I think the closer you are with the people, the more likely to give money.

If you gove money give in increments of 18 (lucky number in the Jewish faith) or you can give a gift...it's the equivalent of a christening/baptism..so whatever you'd give there is appropriate.

I just went to my first also and I gave money. I was viewing it like the equivalent of the Catholic Christening/celebration.
