Re: What is bump

Threads are all of the topics you see listed, when a topic doesn't get responses, it moves down the list...when it gets too far and someone wants it to be seen, they 'bump' it by replying...hence it 'bumps' the topic (thread) to the top of the list.

Here's another one... I've seen posts that include a link to a previous thread. How do you do that???

Re: What is bump

Tee Jay. Whenever you want to post a link you do this.

If you know the website URL (web address)
then while you are typing - click on the link on the left side under all the smilies that says 'insert link'. You'll get a box that says 'please enter the text for the link to be displayed as'. You can put the title of the website (like if it's www.macy.com you can just put in 'Macys' or 'Macy's website' or nothing or whatever you want to put. Then hit enter and it has the 'http' part up there highlighted in blue. If you know your address just press the END key on your keyboard to bring the cursor the the end of that http part and type in www.whatever.com

If you don't know what your website URL is (say it's too long) then you have to open up another browser, find it, highlight and copy it and then do what I said above but when you get to the part where it has the http in the box press your delete key to get rid of it and paste your URL you just copied into it.

I hope that makes sense.

Here's one
Newsday

or The birth of Long Island

or

Hope that helps
