What is everyone's favorite home/design TV show

I love: Designers Challenge on HGTV, FH calls it 'power' design since you get to see 3 design options in on 30 min show.

I like Designer's Challenge, but I cannot take it seriously w/Chris-what's-his-name (from the Bachelor/Bachelorette) as the host!

I really like Decorating Cents b/c they create some really beautiful and elegant looking rooms that real people can live in - BUT, the budget is also reasonable (under $500)!

I really love them all!

My new favorite is on BBC - its called Homefront in the Garden. This amazing designer comes to a London home to redo their backyard. There is no budget liimitation and its always unique and beautiful. Plus, london backyards are small like mine so its not always a case of seeing a huge backyard made beautiful which is a plus for me.

I have totally warmed up to While You Were Out. I used to think they did a terrible job but either I have lowered my standards or they have gotten better. :D

And when Im around to watch it, Surprise by Design is another good one. Its hit or miss but they do everything in one day which forces their projects to be less complex than Trading Spaces, etc..

Stef...I agree While you were out was bad in the beginning...but I just watched it last night and the room looked awesome!!

I love Designers Challenge, House Hunters, Curb Appeal, and Extreme Homes...

I also love my HGTV on demand...but I wish they changed the programs more often...

MONSTER HOUSE!
That show cracks me up. They go totally wild with a theme: volcano fireplaces, light up disco floors, a DR table made out of a car hood outrageous stuff like that. Not for my house but the show is fun.

I love all the HGTV/TLC/BBC decorating and fix it up shows. They are basicly all I watch at this point.

Did anyone see the recent While You Were Out episode where the wife had them redo a deck? The husband came home and hated it! I felt so bad for that woman, she was ready to cry and he kept carrying on about how steamed he was, did you sign a waiver, etc etc.

Fran: I saw that one! She was an idiot. She says at the beginning that he loves the deck and she lets them cut a hole in it!! It was a cute idea but that is going to look like ****e after it rains a bit and stuff falls into the sand pit. And the 'lagoon' is a complete waste of space.

Monster House is hysterical. I can not believe that anyone would sign up for that show. They totally wreck the homes and ruin its resale value!

I agree with the deck episode. It's going to be terrible! I would never have let them cut into my deck, if I had one! DH had a hard time watching the husband get so upset over the destruction of his yard!

I love all the shows though sometimes While You Were Out and Trading Spaces does some ugly things to rooms. I don't really like Decorating Cents, but that Trash to Treasure segment is hysterical! I can't believe some of the junk they make!

I also like Surprise by Design, when I can catch it. Robert Verdi used to be on the Metro TV channel and Rebecca reminds me a Phyllis Diller at times. I like how I have seen them do over rooms for charity, like Ronald McDonald House. But they too, can be a bit over the top with their designs at times.

I saw the deck one also The only thing he liked was the margarita blender thing.

I love most of the stuff on trading spaces with the exception of anything Kia does, hello borders? It's not 1985!

I dont know where they got Kia from. Remember one of her real early shows where she did that bed cover that looked like a grave !

Hildi scares me so does Doug they can get too crazy.

Designer's Challenge is my favorite - I make bets with FH on which designer the people are going to pick (I'm right like 98% of the time ). I also like Trading Spaces and While You Were Out.

Am I the only one who cannot stand any of the TLC design shows? I think they are so sub-par and use the cheapest materials. I never like the way their stuff looks in the end. Sorry. JMO.

I am addicted to Trading Spaces - the original one. I watched Family Trading Spaces last night and I did not like it at all.

I also watch While You were out. The deck episode was so sad! I like the tension between the designer Dakota, and the Carpenter Ty.

I love Design by Surprise!! I think the 2 hosts are a hoot!! They keep me laughing!!

On the other hand...I HATE House Hunters!! They never tell you how much the people are will to pay for the houses, the realtors $uck big time...
'Ohh I know that you said you wanted a house with a yard for your dog...but how about this studio apt?!?! Like it???'
I would kick the cr@p out of a realtor is they wastd my time showing my houses that didnt even have the minimun of what I asked for!! It is so staged I cant stand it...and how come they have all the freaks on that show?? Dont any normal, non pig owning people buy houses???

I like house hunters because it is soooo staged. The people walk around the house saying this is nice, this is nice, this is a nice size room. Then they get outside and 'nah, I don't like it'

I also like Design for the Sexes, Before & After, Trading Spaces & sometimes while you were out.

I agree with everyone else and the pis$ed off husband about cutting into the deck - the wife should not have let them do that!
