What is it?

I've seen many of you write that you have done or arranged for something called pre-can. What is that? Why have I never heard of it? Should I have?

BTW: I just became a Board Enthusiast!!!! Yay!

Are you talking about Pre Cana? That is pre marriage counsiling that engaged coulples have to go through before they get married in the Catholic Church. I hope that was what you were asking!

Thank you nehaliasz. That would explain why I never heard of it. I am Jewish and so is FH. I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something.

Congratulations...enthusiast!

Pre cana is required by the Catholic church (& some protestant ones too, I think) so that they can 'allow' you to get married in the church. It is not that bad & FH & I actually had a bit of fun too!

ETA: since you are not getting married in a church...you will not have to do this!
