What is reasonable for a BM dress? and other Q

What is reasonable for a BM dress? and other Q

I've never been part of a bridal party before. What is a reasonable amount to spend on a dress?

I'm hoping I can pick a designer and a fabric and then tell my girls they can pick whatever dress looks best on them as long as they are from 'X designer' and comes in 'X fabric'. Any suggestions as to which designers I should check out?

we ordered a jordan dress, most of what we were looking at were jordans, they are reasonable... you can negotiate at some places too... I believe the dress the girls ordered was 156.00 mi dont remember the cap for alterations but i think it was 60

I think any dress under $250 including alterations is reasonable. That amount should give you more than enough choices to choose from. If you want a general idea of what dress you may want them to wear, checkout RK Bridal in Manhattan. Once you pick the designer or style, you can do more research as to where is the best place to purchase the dresses.

It really depends on who is in your BP. If you have girls who still aren't in secure jobs or are still in school, you may want a dress that is not that expensive. All of the dresses I like range between $140-$175 w/out tax and alterations.
I was in a wedding where we picked our own dresses. They had to be the same color, length, and designer. It came out nice since we all picked different dresses.

the dresses I picked were 220 w/o alterations or shoes.

I may just pay for the shoes b/c I feel bad

I agree I think keep it around $150-$200. We used Alfred Angelo and only paid $80 for the dress. So my girls were happy happy!

That's exactly what I want to do. This way the girls are comfortable and hopefully happy with the dress. Plus then they can pick something that they may have the chance to reuse. At least the choice is up to them...

anything under $200 is reasonable, IMO.

i told the girls as long as it was davids, in satin, and in wine they could get it (and not what my MOH got...I let her pick 1st)

I had 10 girls so there was no way to decide on 1 dress
the girls loved that idea and the dresses ranged from like 120 - 165

since they were all over the place...they sent me $$$...I placed the order and they arrived in time for my shower...I gave the dresses out then

I feel it depends on the situation....if you friends are all well established in life and slightly older ...you could probably get away with more $$ for a BM dress

I was 24 (almost 25) wehen I was married.....all of the girls graduated college when I did......some were in grad school...and many traveled from other states

I weas trying to find more affordable dresses

Same exact situation, except I have 9 girls. My MOH wants to go to a boutique shop for her dress...which I think is okay to have her dress different as long as it goes w/the color scheme.

What line was it Davids?
