What is the appropriate gift to give at Christening?

I feel like I havent been to a christening in a while. We are going to one this weekend at a restaurant. It is a friend my husband works with. What is the appropriate gift today to give? If its money, how much? Thanks as always!!

i usually give the baby a savings bond.. how much depends on how close you are with the parents//

I would say no more than $50. You can even buy a $50 savings bond for $25 instead of giving cash

Justin got mainly savings bonds for his Christening. They only thing with them is it takes 18 years for them to mature. However when you buy it, it is half of the amount (for example a $100SB will cost you $50).

other then that he got an ID bracelet, a ring, rosary beads etc.... but these mainly come from the godparents.

Precious Moments has a few figurines and crosses that can be hung on the wall too - those look adorable in the baby's room.

Hope that helps!
