what is the average length of an interview?
Re: what is the average length of an interview?
depends on the industry and how many people you meet with. I would guess if it's for an executive position, you'll meet with at least 2-3 people for at least 20 minutes each.

If they dont test you, then they should last about 15-20 minutes.

That's nothing! For my current position, the interview lasted from 8:30 am - 5 pm...ugh. I was so tired of smiling and talking about my strengths and weaknesses!

It really depends. When I was doing investment banking initial interviews, they were around 45 minutes and the callbacks were ALL DAY!!! For law firm interviews, they were 20 minutes or so and the callbacks ranged from 4-5 hours--about 1/2 hour with each person I met with at the firm. I'm so glad I don't have to interview anymore. Good luck!!!
Re: what is the average length of an interview?
I think it depends on the company and position. When I interview someone I like it usually lasts 30/45 mins. Anything less and I can't feel the person out or I don't like them or wrong fit. I met with them after HR screens them (if we go that route) - HR interviews are typically only 15 minutes. Often at my company - you will meet with more than one person in our dept...so the interviews in total - will be at least an hour and half to two hours. I know most interviews I have been on last about the same amount of time in total as well.
