What is the average price for a DJ for a 4hr reception and hour cocktail hour? I have been getting quotes as low as $800 and as high as $2000 and that's with an Assistant/MC. I don't want to give out props either. Just a good DJ who plays good music and can get my crowd dancing,

I am using Tommy Tunes and paying way under $2000 for a DJ, MC, no props, lighting, etc. they are really great there and work with your budget.
ETA: it was for the same amount of time also, 4 hr erception and CH too

i'm using Charles Henry and its also under $2000 for DJ/MC and he plays piano during cocktail hour! Also no lighting/giveaways cuz i didnt want those!

I am paying 1000 for a DJ and an assistant. I am using good times productions and I have heard him DJ seriously a 1000 times and tottaly love him. I would highly recommend him. FM me if you want the info.

i am using FM entertainment, its 1195 for a 2 man mc/dj package 4 hours reception plus CH and basic party lights.

Mines a little over 2000 for a dj, mc, 4hr reception and music for CH and uplighting.
