Hi girls, I also need advice on what I can expect to pay for a fairly good photographer. I appreciate any words of wisdom you can impart. Thanks!

I would say expect anywhere from $3,000- $8,000. It really depends on what you want. If you want more photographers than the price may go up, if you want certain things done that aren't normalyl done, the price will go up. It all depends.
Also, don't let the prices make you cringe too much. Most places can work with the payments. I was a little bummed at first thinking 'OMG, we have to pay $3,000!!!!' but one it's spread out into payments lol it was a little easier to breathe.

We paid around $1500 for two photographers from T and T Studios. His name is Hal Wolin and he was wonderful to deal with. My pictures came out beautiful! Check my Album for some pictures:
We paid $5k for photo/video and I thought that was a pretty good price, considering all that we got for our money.

I would say anywhere between $2,500 and $6,000. I know that's a wide range but it really depends on what you want, if its a studio or an independant photog, etc. If you don't need an album right away you can always ask them to take that off and it should drop their price. HTH

I'm trying to negotiate w/ photogs b/c I don't want albums, but I want the edited CD w/ rights to reproduce. This way you can make the pics when you want. Photogrpahers advertise packages, but they are flexible if you tell them exactly what you do and don't want.

I encourage you to check out Twelfth Night. They actually provide an A La Carte option to build your own package. Great people. Range- between $1,900-$4,000 if I'm not mistaken.

it depends on if you are just booking a photog for pics or if you are booking them and buying prints, and albums.
if your booking a package deal I think you should expect to spend $3K and up.

ikes! Looking at how much everyone spent makes me cringe because I spent $6867. Def. worth every penny though. I am getting the photography with 2 people, engagement session, and one album with I think 48 pages for us. We are using Roberto Falck who has a different type of style to his work - love him so I am happy! But wish he was a lot less. :(

To save some $ - FH and I are holding off on the albums for our one year anniversary. We went to several places (most mentioned on here) and were around $1850 for photos and a DVD of all the pics. A year from the date we will look at albums. Just another route to think of...

I am paying $8500 including video, that was my splurge too. but you may want to leave out the parent albums if you are trying to cut corners they can go up to 400-500 bucks each.
