I will be living in Howard Beach after I get married. My fiancee lives in the area. He went to St. Helens school and his parents belong to the parish. Where in Howard Beach are u located?

Ah, The Bridge. I dont know if I can say I hung out there, as much as I can say I lived there every weekend

As well as Tim Hickeys. The place to be for all 16 yr olds looking to drink on the weekend. I was def one of those girls on the Q21 heading down to Rockaway!! I bet we know a lot of the same people, as we all pretty much knew each other.

My parents are VERY VERY VERY active in St.Helens..

I live in Old Howard with my fiance but I grew up in New Howard as my parents still reside there for the past 35yrs.....

I have not thought about the Bridge in years! I went there in college too....oh the many drunk nights!

I went to St. Stans (Ozone Park), Prep (but everyone from grammar school went to Stella) and then Iona College. Getting married at Our Lady of Grace next month.

How old are all you girls? I am sure we have all crossed paths. I am 29 but have brothers who are 25 and 27...both of which hang out and seem to have lots of HB friends!

I knew a lot of people younger but mostly just a year or two. I am actually going to be 30 in December so doubt I was in school with you friends but my brother is 25 and went to Prep too!

Can I just say that I did not grow up in Howard Beach, and we went to Tim Hickeys too! Is it still there, or did they condemn that place? My aunt lives in New Howard and my cousins all made their sacraments at St. Helens. My one cousin is an altar server there. Small world...

They did close down Tim Hickeys (thankfully after I had already turned 21)

I think that they got busted a few too many times for underage drinking. My friend used to date one of the bartenders there, and he used to serve us all night long. I was a sucker for all of the 'bad' boys from Rockaway that used to hang out there.

Hickeys closed while I was a freshman in College .. Fall of 1995.....

The bridge was open for a few yrs after and then closed down..

I think it was off to oneils and back drafts and Sally O's and Breffanies!

did it really close in 95?? I thought it was open longer. Anyway Theresa, we must be long lost drinking buddies, as I was also the diva in Sally Os after the bridge closed down! Can you believe they made that place into a mexican restauraunt? It was always so funny to see howard beach people all the way out there on Queens Blvd. There are no fun bars like that anymore.
