What is the best favor you ever received at a wedding?
My brain hurts from trying to come up with good ideas. I'm trying to stay away from edible favors, if possible, but other than that...it's so hard to find something that we like, and that other people will like/use, too...

i love what my friend gave out at her May wedding. . . apparently it is quite popular but it was the first time I had seen it.
It was a 2 section ceramic serving platter with a metal serving rack. I tried attaching a image of a similiar one but I am not sure it worked.

It wasn't expensive - but my brother & his wife gave bookmarks with their favorite sonnet on them. I have to say they are the only favor i actually USE....

I love when the bride and groom make a donation to an important cause...people hardly ever use the favors anyway! Why not do something really productive!

We plan on matching whatever we spend on favors and donating that to a charity. We just didn't want to do that as the favor at our wedding.

wow thats great that you can do that! For me, I cant afford both favors and donation so it was more important to do the donating thing...

A friend of mine gave out seedingling trees. So you could plant them when you go home (I went to a very eco-friendly college so we are all into saving the planet). It was a really great idea. However, it was not practical for those of us who were travelling. After finding a place in my carry-on to hold it by the time I got home it was all brown and teh needles were falling off (it became a Charlie Brown tree)

We plan on matching whatever we spend on favors and donating that to a charity. We just didn't want to do that as the favor at our wedding.
we are also matching - my parents are paying for our favors so we decided to do a donation. . . but we can't figure out what to donate too! it is harder than i thought it would be bc so many great causes have effected our family!

I also like it when people do a donation in place of favors. I have never received a favor that I use for more than a few weeks so why not give back instead.

Hey Tilde - maybe you could do a general donation to a hospital...maybe one that has treated many of your family members...instead of a cause - help out the hospital that helped out your families..

oh yeah, and my actual 'physical' favor is a crystal grated cheese or sugar holder with the little spoon!

My mom just went to a wedding on friday and she got an engraved pint glass! I went on line, and they are not as expensive as I thought!!

That is a wonderful idea! I just shared that with FH and he wants to do that..I love it! We don't have any out of town guests so it could work! Thanks!!

these are great ideas. Out of all the weddings i've been to ..the favor from my girlfriend's wedding this past june is the one i've gotten the most use out of. She gave lenox silver 4X6 picture frames.. so unlike the wallet size ones i can actually put a real picture in it to display.
