I am going to go for the dj's with live instruments so i'm budgeting like 3-4k for it ... not as cheap as a dj but not as expensive as a band!
Hoping to spend in the 1k-2k range. The music is important, but my crowd is lively so I don't need too much. I may check out craigslist.
I'm paying $845 for ceremony, CH and reception with basic lights for a DJ with no MC.

I'm paying $ 1200 for DJ and MC and 125.00 for ceremony
I'm probably going to get a steel band for cocktail hour so thats another 500.00 i think

no i'm not using any of there vendors my family is so picky with music so i'm using ebony entertainment since they DJ most of my family functions
I called the chair cover place that is sc's vendor and i think they wanted something crazy like 6.00 a chair for the cheapest one without a bow and if i put it on my self and the prices go up from there so I just steered away because I was scared to find the prices of the other vendors

Oh okay! Just asking b/c I met one dj of theirs at a bridal expo who we clicked with so i'm prob just going to use them! I dont even know how much they cost, but music was 1 area I didnt plan on skimping on anyways!
And the chair covers? Thats crazy!! I plan on leaving the damn chairs the way they are... I think covers are such a waste of money!

Energy Entertainment... I thought the guy talked wayyy too much, but FH (who is a talker himself) thoroughly enjoyed his convo)![]()

The thing that sold me is... He like read my mind... he just came right out and said 'we handle ourselves in a classy manner- we dont play cha cha slide (unless you want us to) and dont give out party hats, etc..., we're not those djs that scream into the mic and so on' My jaw dropped b/c I never said anythinggg about that and it was exactly what i wanted for my wedding... Plus he even came from the same area we live in in the bronx efore even seeing where the hell we were from... it was jus lil things like that... he showed real parties hes done on a tv screen and even rewinded the video to show us them playing at SC

That sounds like a perfect match.... If he mentioned what you wanted before you even said anything i would go for it... but, see if they do a showcase anywhere

i got quoted 1700 for 4 hours including dj & mc, a plasma tv, full lights and i manged to get them to do the ch inclueded in that price. thats from new york nights entertainment.
