What is the deal with the trashing your wedding gown

Original post by lisalisa27

Do you get some kind of incentive for doing it?

We're going to do it. My dress was not cheap but it never fit me correctly anyway so no future kid of mine would want to wear it #1. #2, I can get AMAZING photos (that i didnt get on my wedding day) out of it by doing the shoot and have those forever. OR I can just have my derss preserved and cleaned and look at it forever. ina box.

Um..Id rather wear it again, and have a good time with the DH.

ETA: The dresses aren't always 'destroyed'-most of the things like grass stains and water can be taken care of by having it professionally laundered. After that you can STILL stick your dress in a box.

We did this and had the BEST time! It was so much fun and yes, my dress got wet and sandy but I drycleaned it and it's good as new.....and sitting in the box

Here's a pciture from Wild Rose's vendor page..they did video and my photographer was there. We're the couple on the left in the ocean.

I had a TTD session with Punam Bean. We needed a break from all the planning anxiety and boy did we have fun!

For some people, it's represents closure.. meaning that you will not be using the gown again.

For me, It's not about 'trashing' your dress nor closure, since i took the pictures before my wedding date. I wanted to be able to capture moments of us being romantic, silly, happy in wedding gear and not have to worry about getting it dirty. We got an amazing set of pictures! We took TTD pics instead of epics. And the best of all, the gown is not ruined and came out clean.

Punam is such a sweetheart, she's our first choice for photography someone else has already booked her for that date. Anyone that is looking for creative photography or an Angelica Glass like photographer should definitely check her out!! Her prices are very reasonable for the quality that she produces out of that camera. She has a great eye and the tonal range is amazing.

I didn't take e-pics so it was included in my photo package. As for the video you can contact Bill or Marie at Wild Rose for pricing. I wish I could post the amazing video they made us. It was like something from MTV! If you decide to do it, enjoy!
