What is the difference...

What is the difference...

(if any) between the dress you always said you wanted and the dress you actually ended up getting?!
My wedding dress is everything I said I did NOT want lol Its a sweetheart top (which I swore off) its a ball gown with a lot of beading (I've been saying for the longest time I wanted a plain bottom with a million pickups) and the top has sooo much beading (I promised myself I would never have all that beading b/c I dont like it!!)
So I ended up with a dress with a sweetheart top, no pickups and a million beads lol

How about you girls? Anyone have the same thing happen?

I haven't started dress shopping yet, but it seems to me that everyone I know ends up with the dress they said they would NEVER get...so I have no idea what I will end up with!

Re: What is the difference...

That's exactly what happened to me. I just had a baby 2 1/2 months ago so I am still about 20lbs heavier than usual. Anyway I went in and was trying on simple floor length gowns that were the real curve hugging kind ( the ones that would've looked fantastic on me before I had the baby) but now made me look like I was still pregnant!! I looked TERRIBLE in all of the dresses I tried on. I was going to just leave. The attendant recommended a tea length strapless gown, something that made me cringe at the very thought. But I said fine. Well she brought three dresses over and all of them looked fantastic on me!! They all accentuated my hour glass shape but covered my flaws, it was actually really tough choosing between the 3!! And it's funny I looked at my dress on the website after I got home and it looked terrible on the model, very plain and boring almost like a sack! But that's because the model was a tiny skinny girl, you need some curves to make this dress work and I've got plenty of those!
