For me it was a $100.00 Bill in Macy's Smith Haven and my Dad made me bring it to the front desk I was 10 years old at the time

When I was a kid I found a purse with about $1000 in it, checks, credit cards and a huge diamond ring. Turns out it belonged to some old woman. She had left it on the hood of her car after she picked up her drycleaning. I returned it and she gave me $100

LMAO...Me too I did find a wallet full of credit cards once. I was maybe about 10 at the time. So my Dad and I found the owner in the phone book and called him. When he came to pick up the wallet, he gave me $20

man...only $20 here...at a party supply store...it was in fron tof the register...i figured if I gave it to the store they would just keep it...

I think my dad takes the case though...when my grandfather died...my dad knew that my grandfather had buried money in his basement (my grandfatehr thought the banks would fail one day like during the depression)...so my dad went digging and came up with $18000!!! in change and cash in the basement...

this was the week before my wedding...so all the tips came from my grandfathers basement!!!

my dad has carried a wad of 20s since then...trying to get rid of them (they were the old 20s)

Good question...

I have actually found a large sum twice.

Once at the Renaissance Faire in Sterling, NY- my DH and I found a wad of cash equaling about 200, no wallet.

Another time - again with my DH we found a moneyclip on the street on New Years Eve several yrs ago (coming home from a party) equaling about 150 bucks......no wallet again. Of course we kept it though felt bad for the people who lost it!

$20 bill blowing through the Supermarket parking lot when I was about 10. That was like a million dollars to me back then though!

The Christmas before we got married, DH and I went to Toys R Us to go shopping. Well, when we came out he bends down and finds what he thought was a $20 bill -- it was a $50 -- and then he sees another flying by and then another and then another -- and he's yelling at me to grab it. Meanwhile these 2 women think he lost his money, so they start picking up money and handing it to him!

When all was said and done and we were in the car and I counted the crumpled bills in my hand, we ended up with $840!!!!!! It seems that somebody must have dropped their money when they got out of their car! I felt horrible because they were going to be missing it once they got on line to pay, but what was I going to do? Go in to TRU and make an announcement 'did anybody lose $800?' -- the WHOLE store would've been saying it was theirs!!

We saved it for our wedding and gave some to the church in Little Italy that throws the San Gennaro Feast, since that's where we met!

FH says that I am queen of finding my own money. I am always putting on a coat and finding money. Once I put on a coat and pulled out $400.

$300. Someone left their wallet (no ID in it) when I was working retail during college. I turned it in to mall security. They claimed it later that day:)

I found $100 in the Gateway Plaza mall (Marshalls, Linen and Things, Okey Dokey) and I was able to use it for a dress for a Bat Mitzvah I was going to. It was a pretty strapless purple dress.
