What is the most you would ask your bridesmaid to spend on the there dresses?
I fell in love with this Lazaro dress and Bridal reflections wanted $345 Plus $55 for alterations. I am going to find place with better prices, just dont know where to start. Now I am not asking them to pay that much and I think it is a little steep but I was going to put in the difference as part as there gift and then get them jewerly to match. What do you think of this idea?

A number of women on the boards have gotten much better prices (as compared to salons) and great service from netbride.com
In terms of how much is reasonable, I let my sister (MOH) pick out the dress. She chose something quite expensive. FH's sister had been thinking of paying around $200/$250, so we did make up the difference (but we are having a really small bridal party, so it wasn't too expensive for us to do that).

Thats a great idea but I orderd my bridesmaid dresses from Burtons Bridal for $60 cheaper than Bridal Reflections. $40 cap on alterations also. They were very happy!!! Give them a call and get a quote. Its in Melville. Karissa

My girls were willing to pay up to 500$ for their dresses I thought that was too high (I didn't think they should spend more than 300$.
Unfortunately the dress they picked (I picked 4 that were 290$) was 400$ so I felt bad and paid 100$ towards each girls dress and bought them shawls as well.

i wasn't willing to let my girls pay more than $150. we found 'the dress' for $180, and I got them from RK Bridal for $110.
i just didn't want anyone to spend crazy money on a dress they will only wear a few times in their life, plus they sitll had to get shoes, pay for their hair (if they chose to get it done professionally).

$200...so many of us are getting married in the past year or two or year or two ahead that I wouldnt want to spend more than that so i wouldnt ask them to.

the dress is beautiful!! i found a dress that I love for a lot cheaper at the wedding center in commack..You should check them out! The dress i found is normally around $180,and they had it in commack for $133!

Since most of my girls were traveling to NY for the wedding, I did not want them to spend more than $150. The dresses we found and loved were $109!

I would call them for directions. Its off of Rte 110. I have only been there 1x. The # is 631-424-3377. Let me know what they say :)

I don't want my girls to pay more than $200 with alterations. That's how much I'm willing to spend when I'm in other BP's so I shouldn't expect them to pay more than I would.

I was hoping to keep the dresses at $150...even though my BMs are willing to pay whatever it costs to get the dress they all want - which is something they intend on wearing again. But I still can't see them spending $200, $300, $400 on a BM dress.
Many people on here have had success with netbride - as far as huge savings and super fast shipments. They quoted me $180 on a $260 dress...
If you feel uncomfortable, a nice gesture would be to pay the difference like you said. But I would try to find the dresses cheaper so that you all 'win'. Good luck!

Burtons is next to Pizza Hut, but in the back. So if you're on Rt 110, turn as if you're going to Pizza Hut and pass the parking lot. It's actually a little house that you won't see unless you're looking for it. Small sign says Burton's and dresses are upstairs. I ordered my wedding dress there ($300 cheaper than I found elsewhere) even though they don't carry it. They might be able to order the Lazaro dress even if they don't have it there.

It did not matter the price of the BMs dress. My girls were willing to pay anything because when my best friend got married, I paid about $500 for my BM dress that I will never wear again.

$150 was the most I was going to let them pay. Two of the girls have children and the other lives by herself. I got mine from Netbride.com for under $140 (two piece dress from Impressions).

Adrianna—welcome to my world!! I am currently having the same dilemma. I also am in love with a Lazaro dress in silk shantung (same material as yours), the material is what makes it so expensive. The total for my dress is over $400. I feel ridiculous asking my BP to spend this much, but the members of my BP that have seen the dress want it and don't care about the price. I have only two BMs that are not aware of the dress or the price, so I will see how they feel before I decide. They do make my dress in a taffeta version, which is cheaper, but I really love the shantung. I have checked everywhere for these dresses and I have been a haggling fool! So far, I have gotten the best price from Charisol in Flushing. Netbride, RK Bridal and other places like that don't carry Lazaro. I will let you know how it works out! That BM dress is beautiful! It will look amazing the your bridal gown! What color are you thinking of doing?

wow that's expensive! I would see if you can find it somewhere else for less, unless they don't mind paying.
Mine were $190 plus shoes etc...and even then I felt bad.

EvenEden, I went to Charisol's and I think I looked at the dress you want, it's the gold with the beading? I asked the girl that was helping about what they could do with the price and she said since i have 8 girls they could ask the owner to see what type of discount they could give. I am going back tomorrow with my cousin. I am going to do the Snapdragon color which is the color shown.
