I would definately call and talk to Doug as well. When we went in just to check out Patken, Doug stopped in and he was SOOOOOOOOO NICE and so willing to work with anything. Steve is our photographer, whom we have never met. I figured after the summer..I will call and talk to Doug or Steve directly and it will work out. I know you werent bashing them..you are genuinely concerned..and I dont think they will look at you as a problem person, dont even worry about that. I have found that in most things, you have to go to the person on the top. Its unfortunate, but they are the ones who are able to work with you, where as the lady at the desk may not be allowed to swtich things up. It will work out..just call Doug. I tell ya when I met that guy I felt like I had known him forever.Hes very nice and funny and down to earth. Good luck!!!

Re: What is up with patken...e-shots???
Jenny, I agree with your line of thinking... Also, I wonder if you call back the office and firmly tell them that you can't do weekdays, can they accomodate you? If no, I would not be sure I want them as my photographers? Most photographers have only one job per day, and should be able to find time to do your e-shots, even if you have to wait a few months for that time...

Who's your photographer? Call and ask to speak to him. I spoke with Steve directly about this and he's doing our e-pics on a Saturday at 11:30 a.m. He may be doing that only because I live out of state and is just doing it for me to be nice. Doesn't hurt to ask though....

Re: What is up with patken...e-shots???
First of all, I would call and talk to Nick directly- maybe he could work something out.
Secondly, Doug is awesome to work with. He bends over backwards to satisfy the customers and is very understanding. This is one of the most important reasons I booked with Doug (or Patken in general). Although I don't feel comfortable mentioning the actual situation, Doug went out of his way to photograph our wedding when he really didn't have to, and agreed gladly!
Also in Patken's defense, they are a very popular and busy vendor. Similar to reception halls that do bridal shows only during the week, they have to worry about the many weddings they have to photograph on weekends and may not be able to fit in E-shoots on weekends. Because of this, there may be a general rule of no e-shoots on weekends that the receptionist might have to adhere to.
I definitely feel that you will have more success speaking with your photographer- maybe he will be able to fit in a shoot on a weekend for you when he is available. You do not have to feel like you are being too aggressive- just call and ask to speak to Nick and tell them that he is photographing your wedding. You should not have to leave specific details as to WHY you are calling.
