What is wrong with me?

Hi, everyone I hope everyone who celebrates has a great weekend and a happy Easter. So I am having issues committing to vendors. The DJ that I decided I liked email me the contract to sign and I have had it for a week. I’m not sure why I am so hesitant to commit but have the same issue with the photographer, I saw several photographers and decided I really liked one but have not called her back to book her. Does this mean I should keep looking? Because im starting to become concerned that maybe im crazy, or too indecisive for this planning process…
Anyone else feel like this? Or is it just me?

What is wrong with me?

It is difficult to put money down for a promise that is a year and a half away. Everytime I book a vendor, I should be ecstatic but all I think is what if this company goes under by July 2014?!

You have to take comfort in the research you have done. Youre on LIW and Im sure you checked to see mostly positive reviews. You saw other vendors, and asked any questions you might have. Reassure yourself of your decisions and I think you can be more relaxed!

What is wrong with me?

I wrote an almost identical post a few weeks ago. I've been a little confused by it myself. My FH and I set up a few other appts to help be more confident. So far its not the worst thing, I find its a little easier to remember what I liked about the vendors in the first place.
We are just trying to set them up ASAP since we dont want to wait TOO long and lose the vendors we really liked.

Do you know what some of the concern is? Money? Nerves? I throw up in my mouth a little when I think about how much things are and how many things can go wrong. Asking other people for input has been helpful for me too. Somewhere in there you know what you want! I'm sure you'll make the right choices!

Good luck!

What is wrong with me?

I had commitment issues with my vendors as well. I think it was more because of the cost rather then whether I thought the vendor was the right choice. Once I placed my deposits I felt much better and havent has and regret on who i've chosen. Check weddingwire for reviews. maybe that will help ease your mind.

What is wrong with me?

I had so many commitment issues. I saw 35 venues, probably 20 photographers, and I've seen about 12 bands so far. I still constantly second guess my decisions, but I went with my gut so I know I made the right choice.

I always relate back to an article I read soon after I got engaged. It was all about how most brides have never spent this much money on anything in their lives, and that is the first hurdle we have to get over as brides. It's going to cost a lot of money. And things may not go exactly as we'd planned. But it's going to be a perfect day regardless, so just go with who you click best with and who you are most comfortable giving your money to. If you need to, think about it and look around a little more. But don't allow yourself to hold out too long. Create deadlines for yourself. Also, ask FH his opinion, and (like mine) if he doesn't have an opinion, ask someone else you trust like your mom or best friend. I always knew wen I had reassurance that I was making the right decision.

Sorry you're stressed, but I hope it makes you feel better to know you're not alone!! And you're definitely not crazy!!

What is wrong with me?

I am sooooo in decisive!!! Picking a dress is my current issue. You just need someone to push you and make the decision.

What is wrong with me?

I hear ya! It's definitely hard shelling out all this money and you aren't walking away with anything. When we go shopping you get to come home and see all the nice things you bought, not here!!! I have buyers remorse whenever I shop, never mind spending thousands on something I won't see for over a year and I'll legit have for a few hours!!

What is wrong with me?

I almost had a panic attack on the car ride to sign the RH lol...aside from being a chunk of change to shell out, to me, booking that made everything seem so real. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to marry FH, but it's such an important day & with every vendor the day becomes more and more concrete. Just take a deep breath and go with your gut! I was so indecisive at first, but I found booking gets easier with each vendor.

What is wrong with me?

Signing contracts is Huge!!! I have anxiety picking out my nail polish color two weeks in advance (every two weeks! Hahaha) because its such a commitment. Totally understandable! But at the end of the day you still need to make a decision! Sometimes you just need to do it!!

What is wrong with me?

I have been the same way, hence why I haven't been able to commit to anything, other then my venue of course. I do so much research, which doesn't help me make any decisions! I have been struggling with DJs and photography for over a month now and my future MIL wants answers! :/

What is wrong with me?

I found it kind of hard to commit in the beginning because I kept thinking to myself 'this is my wedding and I want it to be perfect~!' Not only that, but once I sign a contract, it's one less thing to plan... and I find the whole planning process to be so much fun! I realize now, however, that I once I make a decision, I can't second guess it. If you keep looking after you already book something, you could find yourself regretting the decision... even if the decision you made is a great one. Once you find something that really fits you and your style and you could see this vendor as part of your wedding day... then go with your gut and don't look back =)
