What is your child's sleep schedule like?

What is your child's sleep schedule like?

For the last 3 nights my son has been going into his crib awake around 8:30 and falling asleep all on his own without crying (YIPPEE!!!!)

Just before these 3 nights he was being swaddled and would sleep about a 5 hour stretch and then another 4 with just that one feeding in between. We stopped swaddling him the other night and now he is up about 2 -3 hours after he falls asleep, then 3 -3 1/2 hours if we are lucky, then sometimes only 2.

What is your baby's sleep schedule? When he finally wakes at around 5 - 5:30, he sometimes babbles until it starts to turn into frustration. Do you think I should let him stay in there until he really cries hard? Am I picking him up too early? Why do you think he is off all of a sudden, meaning waking so much? Because he isn't swaddled? Any suggestions how I can get him to sleep longer? Thanks.

Just curious, why did you stop swaddling? From what I heard, that does help babies sleep longer -- but thats just from books I have no real world experience (yet!)

We have a special swaddle blanket but my son is so long that he has grown out of it and kicks out of anything else, so it was time to give it up.

I never did the swaddle thing, we've been pretty lucky with her sleeping, she's been sleeping through the night since she was like 8 weeks. She typically falls asleep at around 8 (bath first, then a little nursing and she falls right out) and she'll sleep until 5 or 7 am. Sometimes I can nurse her again and shell go back to sleep for an hour or two, depends on how late she sleeps. She is 20 weeks today.
