payment plan?? My shop was asking for a HUGE deposit and then the rest paid by the first fitting. I'm having sleeves and extra beading added to the dress that wont be done by the first fitting, so I'm not comfortable with paying the balance in full by then....how can I pay for something when I havent even seen the final product??
What are your payment plans?

Re: What is your dress ....
When I ordered my dress I had to put down a 50% deposit of the total cost.
Then I didn't have to pay another dime until I picked it up, 2 days before my wedding. The remaining balance included what was left on the dress itself and the alterations.

Re: What is your dress ....
my dress was discounted through Phyllis (Bridal Elegance), so I had to pay in full at the time i placed the order. Its on a CC, so I have buyer protection, just in case. I'm not worried though!

My mom bought mine at David's for $350 or so on CC.

Re: What is your dress ....
Sleeves and extra beading are apart of the alteration costs. Most seamstresses will not touch a dress unless it is paid off at the first fitting. That is what I have heard from all my friends so far.

I had a 50% deposit when I ordered, and paid in full at pick-up. My dress was at a huge discount, and was therefore not too expensive, so it wasn't a big deal....

Re: What is your dress ....
My dress was ridicuously inexpensive so we payed for it all up front.
But I think you might have to with Davids Bridal anyway.

I paid. a deposit ( Half) and then I pay the rest when I pick it up. Then I have to bring it back 2 months before for alterations and pay for them after it is done. If I were you I wouldn't pay for any alterations before seeing the final product.

My dress was also discounted so I paid in full at the time I placed the order. I also charged it on my credit card so I am not worried. The cost was less than $1000.

I chose to pay it in full when I ordered it.
I think the normal plan if you do not want to do this is to put $500 down and then pay the rest off when your first fitting comes around.

I could not pay all that money upfront for my dress

I bought mine at David's Bridal so I had to pay in full. But i did put it on a no interest credit card so I have taken my time paying it off.
