Speaking of Amusment parks, did you guys see this?
Woman Dies in Fall at Amusement Park Ride
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (AP) - A woman fell 60 feet to her death Sunday from an upside-down amusement park ride, police said.
June Alexander, 51, died from injuries suffered after she fell from ``The Hawk'' at Rockin' Raceway. The ride is shaped like a ship and rocks back and forth, going higher each time. It eventually turns completely upside down.
Alexander, of Nashville, fell 60 feet when the ride turned upside down, said Lt. Lynn Wilhoite of the Pigeon Forge Police Department. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
``We don't know why this happened,'' Wilhoite said.
Representatives from the park's insurance company and the ride manufacturer planned to inspect the site, which has been secured by police.
No one else was injured, he said.
Dollywood also is in Pigeon Forge, about 30 miles southeast of Knoxville.
These things happen all the time...
I've also heard that noone has ever died on Disney property. You know why? They move injured people OUTSIDE before calling an ambulance. Don't know if that's true, but that's what I heard from a former employee.
He also told me that only two people have actually died there. One worker fell off something and an elderly man had a heart attack. (Two seperate incidents.) Like I said though...Not sure how true this all is.

How could I forget Playland? I grew up in Yonkers (and for a time lived in PortChester) so we practically spent every summer at Rye Playland. Its such a cute , old fashioned park, and I love the Dragon Coaster (have to ride it at least once every season!)

Re: What is your favorite amusement/theme park?
Afew weeks ago when I went a guy had just died playing Pluto in the parade in Magic Kingdom. Beauty and the beast float ran him over. I think he dies on th property, but I don't think park go-ers saw, it was after the parade goes off the road , and 'cuts' through to another part of the park.I just went to Sea World too, and to Discovery Cove and swam w/ dolphins. THAT was the coolest thing EVER!

As a former employee of WDW, I have heard that also. I worked in Fantasyland and somebody died while cleaning the SkyTram (If orgot what it was called, they closed it shortly after). He was cleaning it, and it started moving, he held on until the middle of Fantasyland then fell.
My boss also used to be in Tomorrowland as the Attractions Manager and told me about some guy who stood up on Space Mountain and was decapitated while on the ride.
But yes, they have their own emergency services and their own hospital in Celebration so they can do whatever they want.
Working there is a whole other world. A completely different experience.
Best time of my life!!!
