What is your motif / theme

and how are you repeating it through the wedding (on your invites, favors etc.)

Just wondering - I was going back and forth between a few -

movies.

our eparty invites were like a movie premier.
our wedding invites will most likely be a movie poster of some sort.
people will throw yellow/ivory/orange rose petals at us from old fashioned movie popcorn boxes.
instead of table #s, we're doing movies that we've seen together and writing them on those boards that directors use to yell cut (i cant remember their name).

i think thats all. for now. and stuff changes daily. but thats whats going on today.

We used the 'Irish' theme. We incorporated a lot of Irish traditions in our ceremony. We had a bagpiper, Claddagh invites and Irish Wedding song. We also had a Mead toast and if I recall, everyone sang when Irish eyes are smiling. (The Mead kind of knocked me on my butt for a few minutes)

My theme is a story book theme and candle theme. I am making favor books of poems and pics of me and fh from when we were babies until now. I am having candles all over for reception and cocktail hour.

fall/perfect pear
Our invites had leaves on them, all of our flowers centerpieces, cake were fall colors orange, yellow, red, brown. We gave a 'perfect pear' candle as our favor.

Our theme is dolphins ..... From invites to favors.... We thought since we got engaged near the dolphin tank in sea world it just made sense ...

We are kind of doing a v-day theme. Everything is red and white, lots of candles.
Trying to be as romantic and intamite as possible with a large group of people.

We are doing red wine for the favors with a heart shaped wine stopper. I thought it went perfect with what we were trying to accomplish.

Snowflakes!

Haven't done invites, but I hope to have them on there....they are in the centerpieces, and I'm putting one glitter snowflake within a navy blue pouch on everyones place setting.

since we first decided to go to orlando for the honeymoon, we were going to use the disney invites. we're changing the location of the honeymoon. we'll still using the disney invites with a castle as a fairytale wedding.

thanks guys - your themes sound great.

I saw this wonderful wedding in MSWeddings and the motif was a pine cone. Sounds plain, but they tied it in so well - the wedding was in a lodge in oregon, in the fall, and they had miniature pine cones around the centerpiece, lined up by the favors, and on the invitations. It was really cute - I thought

White & purple are the colors and
lighthouses are the accent-
The invites are white with purple lettering, with a small lighthouse on top. The DIY centerpieces are lighthouses painted white and purple with sand, shells and tea lights. My sister is wearing purple, the linens are white and I ordered purple damask napkins. I think it will all tie in together, hopefully.
