If you could change something about it what would it be.
My mom and I are friends, we are close, we talk about everything, she got preggo when she was 16 and we have been like 2 peas in a pod. When she left me at 9 yrs to come to America, I think it broke my heart, but after we were reunited 6 yrs later it was the best day of both our lives. My mom and I share clothes, shoes, everything. I would not change a thing. She taught me about men, fashion, being a lady, she gave me the self confidence that I have and all this self esteem that I have. For that I am forever greatful to her. I love my mom so much, it was the hardest thing moving away from her to go and live with hubby. If I never got married I would still live with my mom. Not a day goes by w/o me speaking to her or us telling each other we love each other. When they made my mom, they broke the mold. She is the best.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR MOTHER
My mom is my best friend. There are of course times that we would both like to strangle each other, but those are few and far between. She has always been there for me. She raised my brother and me without any help, and I thnk she did a great job! I don't know what I would do without her!

Re: WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR MOTHER
My mom is PSYCHO!!!
Ok that was a little harsh. LOL..She is sweet my mom, she means well but on some things we just dont see eye to eye and usually causes a HUGE fight. Mom is also going through menapause so she is like the terminator who needs prozac.
When we went dress shopping we had fun. She was all happy and couldnt even speak. We bowl on a league in the fall together and I treasure our Thursday nights out. My first year on her team we came in Second place. I wanted first so bad and we bowled our hearts out for first. She threw her back out knowing how much first place meant to me. I told her hey first or last I had a blast. Our second year we came in 8th place.
When it comes to planning things she takes forever and a day.
But we have our goods and bad. We have our arguments and disagreements but respect each others feelings on something. For example my cousin is getting married and I hate my cousin. She invited the whole family except my mother and I to her e-party and my mom made an excuse for her. I told her she deserves no excuses. She is a stuck up brat who can not think for herself and does what everyone tells her to do. Then my cousin had a shower same thing invited everyone except my mom and I. I told my mother dont plan on getting an invitation to the wedding and if you think for a second that I am inviting that no good cousin of mine to my wedding you are wrong. My mom being a gem says 'oh no we'll be invited to the wedding' hello the wedding is Sept 5, do you see an invitation??? And she makes excuses for her which aggrivate me. So really that is our only really big disagreement. I hate my cousin and my mom thinks my cousin has a heart and would invite my mom and I to her wedding. But i love her optimisim.
other then that we get along I guess. We talk about soaps, people from the neighborhood, tv shows and anything that may come up.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR MOTHER
I truly love my mom - always have. She taught me a lot about what kind of adult I should be - and I think she did a good job. I turned out ok.
She is also my last surviving parent. She lost my father very young (48), and I saw a side of her that I didn't know, like, or respect. And as much as I understand why she became that way (completely lost her identity), it was hard to live through years of lies.....
I still love her to pieces and wouldn't trade her in for anything. Deep down she's a lovely woman and loves me unconditionally. I can't say that about anybody else in this world.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR MOTHER
I think a lot of people on these boards already know what I feel for my mother. I think it is evident in a lot of the mosts that I have made since April when she lost her fiance. She is my best friend, role modeal, confidant. She is the strongest person I know. She basically raised 3 children on her own. My dad was a detective and was hardly ever home plus I dont think he enjoyed fatherhood all that much when he was.
My dad and her seperated when I was only 12, my sister was only 8 and my brother was a mere 2. She was the one who created our lives, happiness and memories for us. She was the one who stayed up with us sick, helped us with schoolwork, took us to endless dance classes and so on.
She made her life her children. Never worked outside of the house and struggled with income just to be home for us. Never chose friends over us, we were always her best friends. When she let her fiance come into her life, she made sure he was a man who loved us the way she did. A man who wanted to sepnd the time with us that our father apparently didnt want to spend. So in essence, she gave us something else that was beautiful, a father that we never really had and longed for.
She is definately unbelievable! Sometimes our relationship is hard though because we are so close I must admit. She wants me over the house a lot, expects me to do a lot of family things still which of course I Want to do but is hard sometimes to balance. She still babies me which I love but sometimes I need to be on my own.
But as I said, she is the best person I know. She deserves all the happiness and contentment in this world. She deserves to relax and be at peace. And I spend a large part of my life making sure that is what she gets. I wouldnt have it any other way.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR MOTHER
I can honestly say I don't have a great relationship with her but I don't have a bad relationship with her, we just are close. She's not a really affectionate or mushy person and we never really talk about THINGS, just everday things and occurances. We don't talk about feelings or relationships or things like that. She was very strict and as a teenager I kept a lot of stuff from her. When I'm upset about something with friends or relationships, I talk to friends rather than family. But I think my entire family is like that - avoiding real issues and just focusing on everyday stuff. We talk every day and she buys me stuff and we get along most of the time, but its not like she my best friend and there are many others that I confide in before her. She's kind of judgemental and we are different personalities with different views so I've learned to keep them to myself to avoid arguing.
Also, my father was extremely strict - sometimes irrationally so - and she never really stuck up for me. She just agreed with what he said or told me not to ask to do something because she wanted to avoid conflict with him.
I guess I just got more out of my friends... I love her and she's my mom... but I'm definitely closer to friends than family.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH YOUR MOTHER
I love my Mom so much!!! She is my rock!! I know that she will always have my back. She respects the fact that I am an adult and can take care of myself but I know she is right there to back me on ANYTHING!! She is my best friend!!!
Between all the stress of planning this wedding and all the family problems that we have had as of late she is one of the few constants in my life!! She will tell me when I am wrong but she will defend and support me when I am right!! She has been there to comfort me and laugh and smile with me.
As I have been doing a lot of thinking about family and it's importance and what is really family, the one thing that I can say is that I completely lucky and blessed because I have the Mom that I do! She is awesome and one of the most amazing people that I have ever met in my life!! I am so honored to call her my Mom!!!
