I am doing that w/ a piece of my moms wedding dress. I am pinning it inside w/ my FI's baby diaper pin. The pin is blue too! So that's 2 in one shot.

I used the same bag my mom did for her wedding. Although I didn't carry it down the aisle for the actual wedding ceremony. I had an old sixpence glued to the bottom of my shoe.

Before the wedding DH used to joke that my ering would be my something old, we were engaged almost 2 years.

FI's grandmother is giving me a handkerchief from the 1800's, I don't think you can get much older than that!

Repost from something blue thread...

My BP won't let me buy my new, old, borrowed, blue stuff. So I have no idea what I will be carrying. I think my new is my jewelry (it might as well be) and I am carrying a small prayer book down the aisle, attached to my bo-k, that my mother carried down the aisle when my parents got married. I would like that to be my old. So I just need borrowed and blue.

Re: What is your something old?

I think my old is going to be my christening hat which is made out of a hankie. Someone had given it to my parents along with a poem saying something to the point of snipping the threads and make it into a hankie to be used the day of your wedding.
And if a boy got the hat it is suppose to be given to his wife to use.

I wanted to get a bottle of wine from the year DH and I were born...but that turned out to be harder than I wanted it to be...

so I ended up wearing my mom's e-ring

Re: What is your something old?

I am in the process of converting my engagement ring and wedding diamonds into a pendant.

My daughter will be wearing the pendant either as her something old or something borrowed, which ever she decides for it to be for.

My engagment diamond is 30 years old and my wedding diamonds were my mothers when she got married 53 years ago. She gave me hers when I got married and now I'm passing them to my only daughter for her wedding.

My son will be married 3 months before her and I'm very undecided whether I'm going to offer my future daughter in law to wear my diamonds. To me, it won't have the same meaning as a third generation of wearing my moms diamonds. I'm also very hesitiant as FDIL is younger and not as responsible. That scares me to death. If I do decide to offer this to her, they are being taken off her neck the minute the ceremony is over.

I will be starting a new tradition with my only two children.

Re: What is your something old?

My something old was my wedding band- it was my grandmother's.. she was wed in it 49 years before us!

My something new was my tiara- made for me by my good friend and MOH.

My something borrowed was my mom's pearls.

My something blue? my toes! had them painted blue!
