What is your stepfather wearing?

So up in the air about what I want my stepfather to wear. He will be walking my mother down the aisle and doing a reading at the church but will not be involved any more than that. I really could take or leave the guy but I'm doing it for my mom....

I am having my dad and FH's dad both wear bow tie tuxes with black vests. I orinigally wanted FH in a tux with white vest and white euro-tie but now I'm thinking black vest and black euro tie.

If FH wears black vest and black Euro tie, I feel like I dont have an option for my stepfather.

What is everyone else doing??

PS - Divorce really makes wedding planning much more complicated than it should be!!

I say put him in a tux, he will be in the photos and it will look nicer with a tux. I would have him wear the same tux as the dad's but maybe get him a different boutonniere.

I agree with sandr325. Have them wear a tux also, and they get a different bout.

I hear ya about all the fam! I just got married on saturday and we have 8 parents with the step parents! I had all 4 dads in tuxes, with the two dads with different bouts then the step dads. Then had bigger corsages for the moms than the step moms. But everyone knows who are your parents.

Have you thought about your programs yet?? How will you be naming your parents in the programs?

hmmm haven't even gotten that far yet. How did you do it? Luckily out of our 4 divorced parents, my mom is the only one who is remarried. My father and his mother are single and his dad's girlfriend won't come to th ewedding b/c of FH's mom lol.

I couldn't imagine having to deal with a combined total of 4 step parents!

I feel the bout and corsage are not a BIG enough differiation haha, but that might just stem from my the bitterness towards the entire situation lol. The programs and introductions are even worse to deal with. At my friends wedding the MC messed up and called her mother and the mothers BF her parents (she lost her dad some years back) needless to say, she was pissed.

Ohhhh I like that idea a lot! Yea I don't think the bouts are a big enough distinction for me either as I want this day to be special for my dad too. I'm not introducing my stepfather at the wedding. I will have my dad escort my mom and his dad escort his mom.

I would die if my MC did that!

Complicated doesn't begin to explain how divorce makes things complicated! My in-laws are divorce and divorced again...what on earth am I writing on invitations? LOL

I say let him wear a tux with a long tie...so he looks good but he isn't exactly a part of the wedding party...since you are doing it for your mom.
