What is your weird idiosyncracy?

I have a lot of them but there are two that come to mind right now.

I cannot drink a warm liquid when I am eating. I don't know why but I can't. If I am eating breakfast, I cannot drink coffee or tea with my meal. I have to have a cold drink to wash down the food.

Also, I have this thing about sitting on a chair after someone gets up and it's been warmed by their butt. It bothers me. I never told that one to anyone until I heard Elvis from Z100 have a whole discussion about how he is the same way.

It's nice to know that I'm not crazy and there are other people out there like me. Well maybe I am crazy but at least I have company

So, what is yours?

I MUST always have 1 quarter, 1 dime, 2 nickels, 4 pennies in my wallet at the minimum!

haha me too!!!

-Everything has to be OFF when I get out of my car.

-The toilet paper DEFINITELY needs to come over the top.

-My bra and undies must be in the same color family, otherwise I'm thinking about it all day.

-Keys go in the LEFT coat pocket, cell in the right... just in case I need to punch someone, I can have the keys in my strong hand.

I've been told I have mild OCD - I can't even begin to imagine WHAT severe OCD is like!

I cannot look at or have paper towels or napkins in my sight when I am eating. Makes me think of the taste of paper I will have it next to me but out of sight.

I count all steps in my head as I go up or down.

Weirdo!

I am the same way! DH can't understand why I do it.

my grandfather was pure evil for lots of reasons and he use to force me to finish my drink even if i was in tears and wasnt thristy anymore. so whenever you see a glass with just a 1/4 of liquid left in it its me. i have done it that way for so long now i cant help it and its always the same amount lol. i guess its my subconsious (sp) way of getting bad at the creep

I have to have a glass of water next to my bed at night. 9 times out of 10 I don't touch it, but it needs to be there or I can't sleep. It drives DH crazy because at the end of the week there are usually 7 full glasses of water on my nightstand.


And I must have jellybeans with me when I fly. It's a superstition of mine. I eat them when we take off and land. I get really upset if I don't have them so we bought a huge tub of them from Costco since I travel a lot for work.

i always have to be on the right. when i go to the beach with people, I have to be on the right, no one can be next to me. In movie theatres, I have to be on the right... when I walk, i have to be on the right side... I know, very strange...

I also have to switch my alarm on and off a few times to make sure its on...

I thought I was the only one. I check it a million times. Also, I cant stand having all the lights on. DH comes home from work and the BR, Bathroom lights go on..and stay on until I ask him to plz turn them off. If its a bright sunny day, I open up all blinds and let the sunlight be my light.
ETA: Kitchen cabinets being left open. If you take something out, close it when your done. LOL I go to my parents and moms in the middle of cooking, I go around and close all the cabinets, same for closet doors.
OK...I think I am a wierdo for all of these odd things to bother me.

I love these kind of questions: everyone has their compulsions.

I never ever ever drink the last inch of liquid in any container. Someone once told me it's all backwash, and even though it is my own, I shudder at the thought of drinking it.

I cannot have my wet hair touch the back of my next when i get out of the shower - i immediatly put it on top of my head and wrap a towel around it. When the towel comes off, I do it upside down and start blowdrying immediatly so the wet hair never touches my neck. I also have to swim with my hair up for the same reason.

Mine's not quite the same, but I hate wet hair dripping down my back when I'm trying to dry off. So when I get out of the shower, I immediately flip my head over the tub and dry myself that way first, then put the towel on my hair.

The opening in the lid on my coffee must always be on the opposite side of the seam.

I'm the same way about the cupboards being left open.

i don't get the coffee one! is this on the plastic top?

but i'm with you all about the wet hair and shower thing. so what i do is i rinse my hair, then use one of those butterfly clips to hold it up, get out, take 1 towel, take out the clip and put my hair in a towel so i'm free to dry the rest of me! been doing it that way for about 12 years...will not change! it is so bad that if dh wants to...um...share a shower , i need to wear a shower cap or keep it up...talk about romance

Yeah. There's a seam that runs down the side of the cup and up over the lip. I can't drink from it for some reason. It always needs to be on the opposite side as the opening in the plastic lid...get it?

I'm the same way and it drives my FH crazy!

I'm even worse with the coffee lid /top thingy. I CANNOT drink coffee or tea with the plastic lid on whatsoever - I have to remove it entirely, even though I KNOW the coffee will cool off immediately.. So I'll just take it off (sip), put it on .. take it off (sip) , put it on (repeat ad nauseum...)

Further, I hate plastic utensils. I keep silverware at my desk for soup and salads. The only thing I'll use is a plastic knife

I cannot eat ANY food when its 'hot' or right out of the oven/frying pan/microwave, etc. It has to sufficiently cool down to room temperature before I will consume it.

I always clean my silverware right before I will use it .. even though I know I put it in the drawer clean, I MUST clean it again.. Also must clean any silverwear with my napkin when at a restaurant (its gotten to the point where DH thinks I should carry silverwear with me )

I hate reading newspapers that people have already read ... its just so crumpled up and messy to me, not to mention when I observe on the train what people are doing with their hands and holding their papers I would rather spend the 25 or 50 cents of my own than read a recycled paper ..

OH I have a million of them, but I'll stop here
