What is your weird idiosyncracy?

oooo I should add that I'm McGuyver.

At any given time, I have anything you need in my purse. And I don't carry huge bags. It's amazing what you can accomplish with a pocket knife, nail polish, some dental floss, etc.

Just about anything!

I jiggle my leg when I write.

I curl my toes when I'm lounging around. It squicks Mr Boots!

I write tons of lists and bullet important things and sometimes use color-coded ink, but I've been told that's slightly insane.

*Allegedly* I make very exaggerated gulping noises when I'm drinking.

I can only apply lip balm (from the little pots) with my right ring finger. I hold the pot in my left hand. Unscrew the top and hold that with my thumb, index and middle fingers and apply the balm with my ring finger.

When I eat big sandwiches or hamburgers, I prop the end up with my pinky fingers, so nothing smushes out.


ETA: Also, I can't drink hot beverages from clear containers or with a straw. And I can't drink cold beverages from opaque containers unless it's a fastfood papercup. Like I won't drink coffee out of a glass or soda out of a teacup because that's just crazy!

I also can't drink anything hot while I'm eating and have to take something to drink to be with me. Usually, it's a diet coke.

I have to take a beverage in the car with me.

As for the TP issue. It must be under.

I can't get into bed if it hasn't been made. I usually have to make it the minute I get out of it.

AND...The Toothpaste must never be squeezed from the middle

oh dear, i don't even know where to begin.

When I mail things, I check the envelopes over and over again to make sure they are stamped and addressed to the right people.

I also check to make sure the right card is in the right envelope over and over. I recheck my send list on emails a lot too, when I send to more than one person.

Hmmm, I do that thing with the alarm clock.

I very often count things in my head such as steps I'm taking.

I do not like the TV volume to be on a '6' at all, and any time I can put the volume on 7, 17, or 27 (anything with a 7 in it!), I will. Also, when I fly I like a row with a 7 in it. The number 6 is scary to me and the number 7 is safe. I KNOW I AM WEIRD.
I SOOOOOOOOOOOO have OCD although I never was officially diagnosed. (I diagnosed myself)!!

oh another thing: I always like my last words to FH when I'm leaving the apartment to go to work to be 'I love you.' seriously. Always.

If we're in an argument or something I say it under my breath....

I'm even worse with the coffee lid /top thingy. I CANNOT drink coffee or tea with the plastic lid on whatsoever - I have to remove it entirely, even though I KNOW the coffee will cool off immediately.. So I'll just take it off (sip), put it on .. take it off (sip) , put it on (repeat ad nauseum...)

Further, I hate plastic utensils. I keep silverware at my desk for soup and salads. The only thing I'll use is a plastic knife

I cannot eat ANY food when its 'hot' or right out of the oven/frying pan/microwave, etc. It has to sufficiently cool down to room temperature before I will consume it.

I always clean my silverware right before I will use it .. even though I know I put it in the drawer clean, I MUST clean it again.. Also must clean any silverwear with my napkin when at a restaurant (its gotten to the point where DH thinks I should carry silverwear with me )

I hate reading newspapers that people have already read ... its just so crumpled up and messy to me, not to mention when I observe on the train what people are doing with their hands and holding their papers I would rather spend the 25 or 50 cents of my own than read a recycled paper ..

I can't drink water or ice tea through a straw.

When I am sitting I always have to have something in my lap. Like at home I always have a pillow in my lap or when we are out I leave my purse in my lap.

i always have to be on the right. when i go to the beach with people, I have to be on the right, no one can be next to me. In movie theatres, I have to be on the right... when I walk, i have to be on the right side... I know, very strange...

I also have to switch my alarm on and off a few times to make sure its on...

I have to be on the right too!! my ex from college was deaf in his left ear, so I always had to walk and talk on that side--or he couldn't hear me! Until he told me about it, I would get mad because I thought he wasn't listening to me!!!

and even though it's been 8+ years since we broke up, it still stays with me!!

I can eat anything at anytime of day- dinner for breakfast, breakfast for dinner, etc.

I can't sleep with a closet door open

If I eat something sweet I must have something salty after and vice versa

I can't drink milk plain- it must be chocolate milk or in something

When I have multiple food items on a plate I must eat a little bit of each (not one item at a time.)

I eat pizza with a fork and knife, crust first-

As you can see a lot of my idiosyncracies have to do with food . . .


ETA: and I read magazines and catalogs back to front.

When i am running up and down stairs, i will count them in my head...i have no clue why..

I obsess about how long something is baking in the oven..i will check it constantly to make sure its cooking perfectly..weird i know!!

I too always end an email/phone call/goodbye with FH with 'I love you'. Just a thing i always have to do..

Don't know if this is an idiosycracy...but i can remember lines from a movie i just saw or a song i just heard almost instantaneously...and annoy those around me by repeating them :)

I forgot! I also can't drink a hot beverage with a meal either!! Never could...I start almost every day off with a diet coke..lol..

Hrmm.. lets see

- When applying anything to bread be it butter, jelly, peanut butter, cheese meats lettuce ANYTHING, it must reach every edge. Jim thinks I'm insane! I always tell him 'make sure you butter it right'. It doesnt have to be a lot, it just has to reach all the edges.

- I HATE lights on in the house for any reason if you're not in the room. And if youre in the room and there's light from the windows, no light on. Jim keeps wonder why I go pee in the dark.

- I CAN NOT drink hot things on a hot morning. I seriously don't get that. I have an ice cold coke with my breakfast.

- I can't have my feet dirty. This has been with me as a kid. I get mud on my shoes or dirt between my toes and I'm a gonner. Makes going to the beach a very tedious task.

- All my money in my purse must face the same way. Faces up or down one direction only. I clean out Jim's wallet too.

- This isn't bad but drives Jim nuts... I MUST have my lap belt on in the car. Even if it's just to back up. And I cough suggestively when Jim doesn't do the same.

- I *HATE* have dirty dishes in the kitchen when I'm done cooking. I clean as I go and usually the only thing dirty when I get back are the dishes we're eating from.

- Can't handle cold sheets. It freaks me out, so I'll lay on TOP of my blankets until those below are warm.

- Can't handle wet sinks. EWWWWW Cold water standing just grosses me out.

ETA - ICE... I can't stand to have it touch my teeth when I'm drinking from a glass. I'll move the cup around.
