What kind of doctor do I see for cholesterol stuff?
My gyno won't give me any more pills until I see someone about my high cholesterol. She said that since pills can contribute to heart problems, I need to get an okay from a doctor before they'll give me the rest of my Rx. So, who do I see for this? A cardiologist? They mentioned something about an internist, but I don't know if that's right. Thanks!

An internist would be fine. You just need someone to monitor your cholesterol levels by giving you blood tests occasionally. And aninternist will be able to prescribe cholesterol-lowering drugs if necessary, without your having to go to a specialist such as a cardiologist.

if you have high cholesterol aren't you seeing a dr to monitor it anyway? I would think first your general physician, then if it's serious to your heart cardiologist???? How does gyn know you have high cholesterol??
The gyno tested me for high cholesterol, maybe because I was switching pills, and that's how they found out. It went down 20 points over a few months, but they're still making me see someone.

You should see an internist (or cardiologist if it's very high).
Your gynocologist really should have referred you to a regular doctor when she discovered the high cholesterol and not prescribed medication for it. It's similar to a GP giving you birth control pills.
