I'm addressing my invitations also. I bought the Sheaffer Calligraphy Classic pen set. It contains 3 calligraphy nibs (pen points). I found the medium point to be the best. It also has 4 ink cartidges, a fountain pen and instructions for beginners.

Re: what kind of pen for invites??

I went to an art supply store and got a fine-tip, India ink pen (supposedly it dries instantly, preventing smudging).

Take an envelope with you though to test it out before you buy. The first pen I bought looked awful on my envelopes, though it looked nice on the paper I used at the store to test it out.

This was arduous, at least to me. My handwriting is okay, not superb, but I couldn't see spending money on a calligrapher. Most people toss the outside envelope quickly anyway.

Good luck!

oh god, good for you. My hand would kill me, plus I hate my hand writing.

I'm finding a nice font and running them through the printer
