What makes a good thread?

What makes a good thread?

Just wondering because I see posts about 'meaninless threads' and 'lunch' and that sort of thing, but when I post something fun like 'first kiss' I get 67 views and only 5 responses..lol.

What kind of threads do you like to see??

I am not being nasty at all, just wondering what makes a good thread....

i don't know....because there are so many different types of people here...everyone's tastes are different.

Personally I like to see things about people's individual experiences, movies, tv shows, books, etc...

I like fun threads where everyone can participate and tell stories so we can all laugh with eachother.

Re: What makes a good thread?

This makes a good thread.

It's funny, we were talking about this Friday night at the GTG. We all noticed that when someone puts 'so and so..you have FM'..it will get hundreds of views instantly. But when it's something actually warrants a response, it gets very few view/responses. Everyone wants to be in everyone else's business. So I guess 'you have FM' is a great thread. LOL.

Now, what makes me want to read/respond to a thread is when it's short, sweet, and to the point!! I'm guilty of writing a manifesto here and there, but usually it's something people here could actually answer.

Re: What makes a good thread?

you re sooooo right! Those threads do get the most views. Interesting huh? Or, if you want to gaurantee people to view your thread put T's name in the subject..lol

Anything that entertains me and makes my day go faster works for me!

Re: What makes a good thread?

For me good threads are threads that I can respond to quickly and that I will think about looking at again later to see what everyone else thinks. Usually, I don't have time to write very much. Like today because things are crazy here.

T - I didn't realize we have a tight panties clique. But I would imagine that you would be their public enemy #1

sometimes girls just dont have good answers for a post, or are short on time and skip over posting, or keep coming back to check out new answers

Re: What makes a good thread?

I love thought provoking threads, especially when I can relate, like topics of infidelity, excitement in marriage. Then there are the fun silly threads, like happy hour, brain teasers etc. Anything to pass the day. Some people look at threads and have nothing to add so they move on.

Re: What makes a good thread?

Well I understand why people don't reply, I do the same at times, I was just wondering what makes people reply, like what is of interest to them.

Re: What makes a good thread?

I, personally, tend to post about something ridiculously stupid and lame, but it always spins off into something completely different. So I guess I like posts like that...the ones that start one way, then go off in ten directions. I guess I'm a scattered person. I like anything that can make me laugh and basically anything I can contribute to. I don't usually respond if I feel I have nothing good to say back.

Re: What makes a good thread?

I don't think it's much of a 'what's a good thread' but more of 'who has time to write replies while at work'. I shouldn't be on here and sometimes I go on but don't have time to reply and sometimes I do. Some choose just to lurk - which was me for about 1 month before I 'gave in' to temptation to start replying and posting!
