I'm getting married on a Friday and I thought we'd do the rehearsal dinner either Wednesday or Thursday. But my Dad said his friends son just got married and had their RD a week before the wedding. If we do it that far in advance, I'm afraid everyone will forget what to do. So who's right? If I'm right should I do it on Wed or Thurs? TIA!

if it makes you feel any better, we didn't have a rehearsal at all. the Rabbi lined us up at the wedding and that was that. we had no problems.
I think a week before is fine.

Talk to your Officiant Father John, see whats he thinks is best, he must deal with this all of the time.

My wedding is on a Sunday and I opted to do it the week before. Knowing myself, I will be running around like a crazy woman that weekend, so I'll need all the free time I can get. It's really just your preference. Don't worry....there's not that much for your bridal party to remember!

im getting married on a saturday and the RD is on the thursday before...i guess it is totally up to you!

It is what makes you feel comfy. My brother got married on a saturday and we had the rehearsal dinner the saturday before. It worked out fine.

If you want to do it a week before, think about if you have people from out-of-town. Will they be able to make it two weekends in a row? A friend of ours did it a week before and only in-town people made it.

Im trying to decide basically the same thing...wedding is on a Friday and trying to decide on having the rehearsal dinner the week before or the Thursday before. I think I am leaning towards the night before because I like the idea of that being the last time I see my FH before we get married. I just feel like it would be more dramatic and special that way.

I wouldn't worry because even when they tell you 2 days beofe you forget the morning of anyway :) Whatever is more convienent for you

We are getting married on a fri and doing the rehersal the day before. I think it will be a fun night and spending time with all loved ones will help relax us.

our ceremony isn't so standard. i'm filipino and we're incorporating alot of our traditions into the wedding and since FH's family is italian, they aren't so familiar with them. we have to practice and make sure everything happens on cue. that's why i'm concerned. i think i'll do it on wednesday so i can do all the last minute stuff on thursday and then stretch out the drama of FH and i not seeing each other again until the wedding. thanx girls!

i think you should do whatever works best for you and your bridal party. i am also getting married on a friday and am having the rehearsal the night before since my FH's entire family is from OOT and will only be arriving Thursday morning.

I think the week before should be fine. I will probably wind up doing the same because I think there is a wedding at my hall the Friday night before my wedding.

I'll probably have mine on a Friday 1 week before the wedding. I'm getting married during the 4th of July week so some people might be on vacation around that time that's why I think a week before is better

I like the idea of doing it the night before, its kind of exciting and makes you look forward to the next day ( not that we all arent already!) but its true that if you have a lot of OOT guests then they might not be able to make it in for the week before.
Also you should speak with your church ( if you are having it there) and set up something with them, sometimes they can ONLY do it the night before or a few days before hand.
I know for my FBIL reherseal we could only do it in the church at X time on Y date so that might help in narrowing down your decision as to when to have it.
