You just prompted me to make a call to my parish. My wedding is on a Sunday, so I was just assuming my rehearsal dinner would be the night before. I just left a message with my priest to try to set that up. It should work out right after the Saturday evening mass. My thinking was to make it as close to the wedding day as possible (preferrably the night before) so that out of town members of the bridal party would all be there, and then we can have a 'night before' celebration dinner/rehearsal dinner at the hotel where everyone would be staying. Hopefully, his schedule will allow us to do this!

Is anybody in your wedding party from OOT. If they are then I would do it the night before since it would be difficult coming a week before and then again for the wedding. Otherwise, I don't see any reason why it couldn't be a week before, I know a lot of people do that as well.

It won't matter if you do it the week before. I did mine 2 days before and we still forgot. They help you that day anyway. Its just good so that everyone has an idea and when to come in and where to stand.

My priest just called me back (does anyone get VERY nervous talking to clergy? I'm sure I get it from a life of Catholic school)...
He just scheduled my rehearsal for 6pm Saturday, the night before our wedding! Another thing to check on the list!
