A 2-hour flight from Paris to Venice costs $1120 PER PERSON... I thought the travel agent must have made a typo in her email... but NO!! It's true... This is insane! Anyone going from Paris to Italy for cheaper?? Info please!!

I agree - look into the Eurorail. My cousin has been travelling through Europe for many years by using it.
RyanAir is SUPER CHEAP, though I don't know where they fly. It's a very low-cost no-frills airline in Europe. Some people love it, some people don't...but for a 2 hour trip, it's not like you'd be on the plane for a really long time.

Thanks for the tips... I'll ask the travel agent about the euro rail... even though i didn't want to take it originally bc its like a 10-hour ride... but i guess if we can do it overnight it won't be the worst thing... I'll look into air ryan too... thanks again... i'll keep you posted!

i took an overnight train once from switzerland to france. it wasnt bad. we had a car that had little beds. i slept.

We are doing the euro train from Paris to Florence which is WAY more cost effective.
Also you could look into the Easy Jet, which is sort of likr the Southwest Airlines of Europe, and flights are very very inexpensive. The Easy Jet only flies to major european cities.
