Hello. We are moving to Long Island in a month and are starting the process of getting phone and cable. I am wondering what phone service everyone has- AT&T? Verizon? Optimum Voice through Cablevisison?
I though Optimum voice sounded great and the price was excellent but my husband seems to think that Optimum Voice is not so good- he said he has read some negative things about it. So I wanted to ask you all for advice. Thanks!
Same here we got the triple play - telephone, cable tv and internet under $100 a month for a year. Love the service and we have not had any problems.
We have the same thing! Its great.

I am strickly cellphone.... no landline.
I refuse to pay somebody for phone service when I am already paying somebody for cellphone service.

I have vonage.. it is like Optimum Voice but I can dial 911.

what do you mean? are you saying that OV cannot call 911?
we have had OV for over a year now and thankfully i have never had to call 911 but doesn't all providers legally have to allow customers to dial 911?

My understanding is that Optimum Voice does not have 911 service. I know many of the VOIP ones don't. When I was shopping around for phone service, I had read this and asked. maybe Optimum has changed. But 1.5 years ago they had told me they don't have 911. Why don't you dial 911 and if someone answers just explain that you were testing if it works.
Of course, with Vonage if the power goes out, I cannot call 911 either. (I do have a 30 minute backup UPS power supply.)
Maybe someone on the thread can share if they have 911 service with Optimum Online.

We have AT&T Callvantage. My phone bill is $34.07 every month, unlimited local and long distance.
