well before you make your decision, definitely check out the the list of reception halls they have on this site. But I have to say Chateau is beautiful and I love the outdoor area for CH.

Def. check out as many places as you can- sometimes people say it makes the decision harder- but for me it just made me realize the first place we went to was the palce for us.

Going to look at places is so much fun too.

Happy Hunting!!

I agree! I was so set on the first place I looked, & ended up absoultely loving & booking the last! This site has a ton of feedback on so many locations to help your search. Another great resource for me was LICateringHalls.com. They have a list of literally EVERY RH you could think of in Nassau & Suffolk, with a breakout of cost, if they have an outside area, the number of people they accommodate, ect.

Good luck in your search!

Definitely check out the Watermill in smithtown if you haven't already (happens to me be my RH, hehe) but they have a beautifullllll outdoor area for the CH hour, it also has waterfalls and a bridge to take picks on and tons and tons of flowers, very nice looking. And my ballroom (downstairs) can hold I believe up to like 450-500 people....the rooms are absolutely amazing. Definitely check it out and also other places before settling!!

I'm partial to flowerfield but def check it out if you get a chance. They have a beautiful outdoor cocktail area next to a lake with swans and fountains.

The inside looks almost like a rainforest (very very different) and it has an indoor pond and bridge (cool pictures!) lol.

I also liked that it was secluded and not just on a highway somewhere. They rely mostly on word-of-mouth recommendations. I also have never heard anyone say a bad word about it - and everyone I tell where I'm getting married they tell me about how they've been to a wedding there and it was the best wedding, best food, most fun, etc.
