I didnt include my FMIL when I went shopping for my dress but a lot of people do. I guess it would be a nice gesture...the only thing that I would say is that I remember you saying that you are in your early twenties and I'm sure that your taste in dresses will probably not be the same as your FMIL so make sure that you pick out a dress that you like, not what you FMIL likes.
By the way...Were you able to convince FH to change your date to 08'...I hope so!
YES haha I got FH to agree...well he weighted the pros and cons like i did and ended up agreeing as well....
thanks I am so excited so we are shooting for Sept 27th 2008

none of them are involved. fh and i are doing all the planning by ourselves since we are paying for it all.

Re: what planning...
Yes...FIL's kinda a language barrier...i mean they speak English they have been here for 30 yrs haha but their native tongue is Romanian and they talk it alot at home...and they are stubborn so I am afraid to have FFIL come to the FH and embarrass me hehe not to be mean but he gets into the whole well this is wrong this shouldnt be like this
he got mad i didnt consult the e-party info with him before i booked cause i booked it on a fri night instead of a sat night and he got mad but ughh what you going to do..
I LOVE LOVE my FILs they are sweet, caring and love me so what more could i ask for
I would like FMIL to be involved with the invites maybe flowers and my dress when we go get fitted not to actually pick it out- But she works alot and likes to come home and just relax and never wants to stay too long at places cause she is a homebody haha she is so cute but i have a feeling she wont want to really go that much especially if its a night

yes both our parents are happy we are getting married but FFIL thinks we should wait like 5 more years until we actually tie the knot haha but he though FBIL should have waited longer and he was 29 when married lol

Re: what planning...
I include FMIL in everything. She does not have any daughters so I wanted to include her in the dress shopping. I went the 1st time with my mom & moh and did not invite my fmil because it was last minute. Last Saturday I went to another bridal Salon and brought my mom & fmil. She was so honored to be included.

Re: what planning...
Me and my FMIL are going dress shopping along w/my FFSIL's *2 of them too! yay I'm excited. My mom hasn't been too into it so I'm excited to have FMIL involved. Even FFIL made a dress appt for me and left me a message on my cell. I was like wow! lol I would never imagine but long story they know the lady that owns it so its kinda biz related. Either way they're excited & so am I.

Yeah I haven't included my FMIL in anything, but she lives in Pittsburgh so it's kinda hard. She's really excited about the wedding though, so I keep her updated on everything! If she was here I would include her!

are you including your FMIL in???
Some people said to have FIL's check out the hall before you book it and some say to have FMIL when you get your dress....IDK??
What does everything think...and what aspects of the wedding planning are you including FMIL and FIL's in on??
nothin.
she is gettin an invitation. and that is it. oh and maybe who she feels she needs to have at our wedding.

Re: what planning...
Let me start off by saying that I really do get along very well with the FIL's.
As far as them being involved in the planning, FH and I are paying for the whole wedding on our own (minus my attire which my parents are paying for). So when we went to book all our vendors it was only me and FH and then we would come home and tell both sets of parents what we booked, what we wanted, etc.
I did ask FMIL to come see the sample of my dress after I ordered it but she ended up having something else to do that day.
I plan on asking her to come see the actual dress when it comes in.
I'll probably ask her to come to a hair and makeup trial with me (she has no girls so I wanted to attempt to involve her in some of the girly stuff)
I'll offer to go with her when she wants to look for a dress.
That's about it.
Oh yea and FMIL came with us to the Fox Hollow showcase so we got to show her around the place which was nice.
It's hard cause sometimes I feel like no one is interested. I know the no one cares about your wedding as much as you do but on both FH's side and my side I almost feel like are parents are like 'okay we're going to a wedding.'
I haven't seen anyone really excited over anything since the night we got engaged and it stinks!
