what, really?!?!

So last night, i went over to my mom's house for Rosh Hashana dinner. As I walked in, i hear her on the phone with somebody. Here's the conversation:

woman on phone: how did the wedding go?

mom: great, it was so nice and everyone was so happy. thanks so much for calling

woman: oh great .... um ... the real reason i'm calling though is to ask a huge favor.

mom: o...k....

woman: can I borrow $50 please? My car ran out of gas and i don't have any money until my husband won't be home ....

mom: oh, i'm so sorry Judy, i don't have any cash at home right now ... sorry again

and that was pretty much it. ok, doesn't sound weird yet .... till you realize that the woman on the phone was the hairdresser at my wedding!!!! (not anyone from this site, no worries). She's not my mom's friend or anything! She just does my mom's hair at the Lemon Tree (and has only been doing that for the past year ... maybe even lesss).

How weird is it that this lady called us up and asked for money?!?! and why $50 ... can't your car take $5 worth of gas?!

we think it has to do with substance abuse or something .... but still - what the ef?!?!?

anyway, just thought i'd share

that is def very odd... good thing your mom didn't give her $... also.. if her car ran out of gas how would she have gotten the $$???

no, that's why it's so weird.

my mom used her for the past year for haircuts and whatnot (so that's what, 6 or 7 appointments in total) ... and she came to the hotel to do my mom's hair for the wedding (which is why she had my mom's phone number) .... but that's it!!!

Maybe business is slow...
