What School district....

...did you buy into?

Just wondering what LIW people consider good...

We are not settling here, so I don't know a lot about Nassau and Suffolk.

There will be a lot of opinions about different districts. I think your best bet would be to look on the NYS Education Dept. webiste. They have a search feature on the main page- go to 'School Report Cards' on the drop down menu and also put in the name of the district you're interested in in the other search space.

IMO, opinions are good but data can really also help you make an informed decisions. It's good especially if you find yourself with conflicting information.

looks like we are going to be settling in new jersey

we looked in:

- summit
- chatham
- madison
- new providence
- berkeley heights
- westfield

'good' is relative

i grew up in one of the 'better' school districts in westchester and my parents wound up sending me to catholic school (and i'm not even catholic )

IMO in the end it all depends on values and priorities... but for purely real estate puposes, follow the test scores...

If we had enough money and could afford it, I would love to live in Three Village, or Smithtown School District... most likely we will end up in Comsewogue or Rocky Point, which I dont think are too bad either...

We're in Oyster Bay-East Norwich. However, I plan on sending my kids to parochial or private schools. Just a preference, it has nothing to do with our district.
