what sections of huntington send their kids to harborfields school district???
I know there are sections of huntington that do this, but I don't know where they are and what they are called. Can anyone help ??

disct 3 is huntington S.D, I thought the area on the border of Meville, did, its considered South Hungtington, very fine line though

I was just looking in Huntington this past weekend and I think SD 3, 6, and 13 are covered. I think 6 is Harborfields and is supposed to be the best - I'm murky on the areas BUT I think 3 is Huntington High (not so great) near the Village, and 13 is Whitman (so-so) around the mall area. This is what I was told.

I know in the southern part of the district (south of dunlop rd), the areas on the east side of park ave are in harborfields. also some of the areas that are west of park ave are part of harborfields too (further south). prairie rd and east rogues path are the dividing lines. I'm not sure exactly what the cutoff lines are when you aer north of dunlop

also parts of Huntington are in the Elwood School district (John Glenn HS)
I tend to think only a very small section of 'Huntington' will go to Harborfields. Harborfields is generally Centerport and Greenlawn.

not sure of the exact zoning, but the homes south of 25A (cherry lane and salem ridge area), some of those surrounding old fields middle school (greenlawn rd.) and those in dunlop rd neighborhoods (west of park ave)are listed as huntington, but in the harborfields school district.
MANY families in the huntington SD opt to send their kids to private schools because the district (especially the HS) is less than desireable. as a result of the large percentage of huntington school aged children enrolled in private schools, the district is suffering despite the fact that the taxes are very high.

north huntington school, south huntington inc. huntington station is walt whitman, elwood, and harborfields...... the last thing i heard was walt witman has metal detectors in their hs???
