What should go in our photo contract

Girls I need your help...We think we have actually narrowed it down to 3 photographers. What exactly should I have go in the contract.

I know the amount of hours
# of photos in albums
Time line for getting proofs, pics...
Total Price
Payment plan

What else??

Am I supposed to have an actual start time for them. Such as 1PM brides house????

TIA

every single thing they said they would include: get it in writing!! how many photogs, any photos on a disc...or physical photos...enlargements, etc.

I would get everything in writing. This is what we had in writing in ours:

Date of event
# of photographers
Hours to arrive at each location
What is included - what size album, proofs, etc
The total charge for services w/ tax
Payment plan - what is do when

And anything else that you discussed with the photog. Don't assume that they will remember things you discussed.

Good Luck.

GET THE RIGHTS TO YOUR PHOTOS!!!!!! This is key so you can make prints without having to go through them afterwards.

Number of hours
Number of photogs
Number of proofs
Number and size of enlargements
Size of album (measurement and number of pics)
Size of parent albums (measurement and number of pics)
Thank yous
Cost of extra prints
Cost of overtime
Cost of extra locations
Proofs on hard copy and/or disc?
Proofs online?

~ If you want a specific photographer you should have that included - as well as plan B in the absence that the photographer you contracted is no longer available.
~ What will the photographer being wearing
~ Backup equipment
~ You own the photographs and get copywrites to all of them
~ If getting hard copy proofs make sure to ask that they dont have the company's watermark on them
~ Minimium number of photographs taken
~ What percentage of the photographs taken will you receive
~ Touch up on proofs (define the word touch-up)
~ outdoor and indoor/weatherproof equipment - if it rains you still may want to take some pictures outside
~ breaks/downtime
~ in the event you are not satisfied with your photos what can be done
~ transportation accommodations between venues
~ make sure its all inclusive - if you are not required to pay for transportation

Try to think of the worst possible scenario, as that is the things that you want to prevent by stipulating it in your contract. Although they may not allow you to add everything see how much they will let you add in and include. Remember you only get one shot and your wedding day photos so you want to be as prepared as possible

make sure your proofs dont say PROOF all over them - that happened to my friend to prevent her from printing them somewhere but the place she used....
