What should I ask my photog?

Hi Ladies. Meeting with a photog tonight. Just wondering what I should ask them. And what, if anything, i can do to try and reduce the price.

Thanks!

Re: What should I ask my photog?

when we met with our photographer we had a list of how many albums we wanted (ours, parent, grandparent etc) - but if you are looking to cut costs maybe skip on the praent/grandparent albums and print your own one shutterfly or something.

we also asked how many photographers they give, how many hours of service are included (typically they leave before the reception is over but you want to know how early they will show up).
ask if you get a printed copy of proofs and all images on a CD and find out if you have the rights to the images (so you can print them elsewhere - some photographers only post them on their website and you have to order prints through them).
find out if epics, enlargements and thank you cards are included in the package (this may also be something you cut if you are looking to spend less).

personally, i would make sure you are meeting with at least one of the actual photographers that will be at your wedding...you want to connect with them since they are by your side alllll day. and of course you want to see samples of their work.

what we did as far as pricing too was once we got the quote we took it home and called him a few days later saying it was a little over budget can we do it for xx amount and he agreed to lower his price...didnt take out any options or anything.

good luck!

Ask them how long it takes to get your proofs and albums. Find out if they give you rights to your pictures. How many hours they cover? You can cut costs by having one photog, choosing a cheaper album, and not doing parent albums.
