I ordered my dress about a month and a half ago. Since then, I have lost about 11.4 pounds and gone down about 2 sizes. Do you think they can take that in during alterations? Do you think I should call the salon and see if I can change the size of the dress? I am afraid they are going to make me buy a new dress. If not, I am afraid the alterations will ruin the style of my dress (Dion by Maggie). What do you girls think I should do? I am so confused and worried!
Thanks!

I would call and get their advice, if you feel they are pressuring you to buy a new dress, then you will have to figure something else out (sorry, I know that doesnt help) but if you dont call and try to talk to them, you will never know if they could have helped

ditto.
I asked my salon before I purchased the dress. I was at the high end for me and I knew that I wanted to loose at least 10 pounds. They said that they deal with this all the time. But I think that it really depends on the dress.

Re: What should I do?
Does your Maggie lace up the back??? It can always be laced a little tighter.
I think they'll be able to either alter it or order a new dress...call them soon. The sooner the better so they have enough time to cancel the first order and reorder.
Good luck!

It does lace up the back so that will help. Thanks everyone for your advice. I think I may call. I am just afraid they are going to want to charge me for a new dress.

Re: What should I do?
when i bought my maggie(olympia) they told me at the salon that the dresses with the corsets can be made up to four sizes smaller - but only one size bigger without effecting the style and beauty of your dress
hope this helps

Really? That is great! That helps so much. I am still thinking about calling just make sure. Where did you order your maggie?

Re: What should I do?
I've always gotten the impression that making a dress smaller is not a problem but making it bigger might be b/c you might lose the style. For example if you had beading or that sort of thing. I would call, it will probably put your mind at ease.

Re: What should I do?
Mine is also Dion and I lost a little bit since ordering the dress. The lacing is good except for the waist which is too big on me. She might just take that in if I don't gain any back soon. She said it was no big deal.

I would definitely call the salon, but I don't see why they can't make it smaller, but it depends on the design of the dress too!

Re: What should I do? - Update Added
So I just called the salon and my dress is scheduled to come in April 15 (That's only 3 months since I ordered it!). She said she would call to see if they can change the order but she thought it might be too late. She said not to worry though. That I didn't lose too much to take it in. I should be ok. I hope so. Thanks for all your advice.

Re: What should I do?
Don't worry - I lost 30 lbs. between ordering the dress and my fitting (illness and surgery helped - I'm not that great at dieting ) My dress was taken in a lot in the waist and fit fine - you can see a picture in my profile.
