Hi girls. I live in Manhattan and will be having both my ceremony and reception in the city. We have room blocks at a hotel where most of our guests will be staying, but it's only 5 blocks from my apartment. FI thinks it is a waste of money to book a room for the two of us for our wedding night since we live so close...and we could just go home. BUT, it is my wedding night and I want WHERE I stay to be special and I want to be near all my guests.
What do you think? Opinions please....what would you do?

Maybe you should have a room booked, but if money gets too tight you can cancel later?
Though it is nice not to have to stay at home every now and then, don't break the bank to do it.

I say stay where you want. After the wedding wouldn't it be nice not to have to worry about making your bed and also getting to have breakfast in bed maybe? Nice! Jacuzzi tub? Room service!

Hmm, I hear what you're saying. But I'm thinking on your wedding night you're gonna want to be alone, 5 mins away is close enough to your guests. I also understand wanting a special place to stay, see if someone can go there when you're apartment is empty the day of and make it special. Have balloons on the floor, flower petals scattered, a bubble bath drawn, light candles, play soft music, etc. Just an idea!

If you can afford it, I would totally stay in a hotel room the night of your wedding. Its your wedding night!! And we all have our somethings that we spend extra on because it means a lot to us.

if you have the $$$ then i would stay at the hotel, FH and I already live together and decided to stay at a hotel that night
